I’ve always been a person who likes to dress up which fit well with my life pre-baby. My workwear afforded me the opportunity to exercise myย penchant for all things skirts and heels. Since having Ivy, my life looks remarkably different which I am totally okay with. It does mean my dressy clothes aren’t really appropriate on a daily basis. Don’t get me wrong, I still wear them any chance I get and plan to when I go back to work part-time in February. For now, I’m enjoying more casual looks and developing my mom style.
To be honest, I have never been very good at casual. When I have needed to run an errand or take Ivy to the doctor, I kept coming up short. I began a search for some tops that would be casual with unique details. I found several tees that are anything but basic. I’m sharing them below. I have also been loving details like coated jeans, velvet sneakers, and studded boots that don’t sacrifice style while maintaining comfort.
Blog photos have gotten more difficult, and I don’t always get to photograph all my everyday looks anyway. I’ve started snapping an ootd (outfit of the day) picture when possible, and I thought I would start sharing them here. I have to be honest y’all, these ootd photos are hard! You should have seen me making a fool of myself in our driveway. I don’t know how other bloggers make it look so easy. After moving to the back deck for the second one so the neighbors didn’t think I was totally insane, I still couldn’t get the white tank to focus right. Oh well! I’d love to have your feedback about this, so please let me know what you think about this content. It’s not my usual and a little out of my comfort zone.

I’m sure you’ll do great at casual outfits as long as you feel comfortable with what you’re wearing! I love these boots so much!

I tend to go the casual route and just pick a great bag (or scarf if it’s cold) to kinda add a bit interest to my outfit. Taking OOTD pics every day is tricky, especially as I do it when I leave the house and I’m usually running late as kids never seem to help you get ready on time – you’ll know, haha! Wouldn’t change it for the world. I miss pencil skirts and dresses and tops I can’t breastfeed in sometimes but it’s only temporary ๐
Hope you are having a lovely week ๐

While not a mom, I still love this idea! Probably because I’m the opposite of you and prefer to be more casual so these are all outfits I can see myself recreating hahaa.
And you’ll get a hang of the downward facing selfies ๐ They really are SO hard though and take practice. And never get less awkward lolz.
It seems everyone likes the more casual looks. I think I need to start sharing them more! I hope you’re right, but I am not confident I am ever going to get the hang of it. ๐
Ok, I’m not a mom but I LOVE all of these looks and picks! ๐ XO –

Amy, I LOVE this entire outfit!!! I was actually quite surprised reading that you’ve had a hard time putting together casual outfits because I honestly love all the looks you put together, including the ones with jeans or leather leggings and OTK boots!!! I’m sure it’s an adjustment, as I’m starting to have to adjust my clothing choices to accommodate my growing bump, too. I would love to see more posts on tips and tricks you’ve learned in styling and motherhood in general after having Ivy to give me an idea for what to expect. In regards to your outfit posts, I like the #fromabove angle, you get a nice close up of the entire outfit! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you’re having a great day so far!

I LOVE your pink sneakers!! I’m actually a huge fan of the athleisure look for running errands but I try not to look too much like a slob when I do. I’ll definitely take your pointers!
