I’ve always been a person who likes to dress up which fit well with my life pre-baby. My workwear afforded me the opportunity to exercise my penchant for all things skirts and heels. Since having Ivy, my life looks remarkably different which I am totally okay with. It does mean my dressy clothes aren’t really appropriate on a daily basis. Don’t get me wrong, I still wear them any chance I get and plan to when I go back to work part-time in February. For now, I’m enjoying more casual looks and developing my mom style.
To be honest, I have never been very good at casual. When I have needed to run an errand or take Ivy to the doctor, I kept coming up short. I began a search for some tops that would be casual with unique details. I found several tees that are anything but basic. I’m sharing them below. I have also been loving details like coated jeans, velvet sneakers, and studded boots that don’t sacrifice style while maintaining comfort.
Blog photos have gotten more difficult, and I don’t always get to photograph all my everyday looks anyway. I’ve started snapping an ootd (outfit of the day) picture when possible, and I thought I would start sharing them here. I have to be honest y’all, these ootd photos are hard! You should have seen me making a fool of myself in our driveway. I don’t know how other bloggers make it look so easy. After moving to the back deck for the second one so the neighbors didn’t think I was totally insane, I still couldn’t get the white tank to focus right. Oh well! I’d love to have your feedback about this, so please let me know what you think about this content. It’s not my usual and a little out of my comfort zone.

Love these looks! Super cute. I’ve found OOTD pics to be hard at times too – especially if I try and let my kids help me…they take the worst angles, haha! 😀
(Stopping by from the Fashion Files linkup!)
Girl, you need a selfie stick. It helps, thou you’ll still end up taking several shots. Or at least I always do. lol! Both outfits are great! I just love those studded boots everytime you wear them.
Now correct me if I’m wrong but in the U.S. mat leave is only 8 weeks? Which is so crazy to me. Here in Canada, mat leave is a year…This is how it should be for you guys too.

These are all awesome looks, Amy! I think finding pieces with unexpected details is definitely a good key to casual outfits. I’ll have to check some of these out! Also, I laughed out loud at your “so the neighbors didn’t think I was totally insane” comment. So been there, haha. I think your ootd pictures came out well, though! It sounds like a busy season of life, and I’m happy to be reading your blog no matter what style outfit photos you use. Happy Friday, lady!
