I’ll forever love looks that combine the classics: stripes, good denim, red, white, and blue. I also love high waisted denim and a shorter, more boxy top. I find it to be a flattering, easy to wear silhouette. It also works well for me with Ivy, especially a higher rise with a looser leg. It means it’s easy to sit on the floor making the cut of denim a mom favorite for me. You’ve seen this exact pair (on sale!) on the blog here with a black tee and here with a red and white striped tee. I’ve also worn my culottes with a shorter top here and my cropped flares (also on sale!) with a flowy top here (both high wasited denim). In real life, I’ve mixed and matched all pairs of denim with all these tops.
To be honest, I just love high waisted denim. It sucks you in and make your legs look long! This is my favorite pair of high waisted skinny jeans. You’ve seen then on the blog here, here, and here often paired with a shorter top. Like I said, my favorite silhouette. What about you, are you a fan of high waisted denim?

Outfits like these are easy and so mom-friendly. Love your jewelry and hat. I don’t own denim culottes or high-waist denim but would love to get some of each.

I think I need to get me some of these. You look beautiful and so long and lean… I always seek higher waists because at work and home I am down on the floor with kids and I don’t want to worry about anything showing. I will have to check out the skinny version for fall.

This is such a pretty, classic look. Every time I’m down on the floor wearing a pair of lower-rise jeans I always think about how I need some with a higher waist! I hate having to keep pulling my pants up! This looks like a great pair, and you’re right–they do make your legs look so long!
