How to Buy Designer Items for Less

June 21, 2017

So you may have noticed a couple new items with a certain fancy initial on my Instagram feed and in my previous blog post here? Or maybe not because I don’t really expect that you pay that much attention to me or my feed. Regardless, if you are here reading this post I thought I’d dish on how to buy designer items for less. If you are anything like me, you covet those designer items but cannot always afford or justify the price tag.

I’d been contemplating buying my first ever designer handbag and saving for said purchase. I’d internally debated it for months. Did I really want to spend that much on one item? Would I really love it long enough to feel like I got my money worth? A large part of me felt like the answers to these questions were no. I also just had a hard time spending that much money. Another part of me really believes that there is value in saving and buying fewer, higher quality items. Many designer items are pieces that can be passed on to kids too.

This lead me to a comprise I feel really good about. I bought designer items discounted secondhand. Buying items this way allowed the best of both worlds in my opinion. I got the designer items I was coveting without paying the high price I just couldn’t wrap my head around. I purchased two Gucci belts for the price of one and a Chloe mini Marcie bag at a very discounted rate. All the items I got were in great condition, so I didn’t feel like I lost out. But I did save. Win!

I bought my items through Fashionphile simply because that site happened to have the size/color I wanted when I wanted to purchase them. I had a great experience. All my items came with dust bags. I am listing below multiple sites that are considered trustworthy. They verify the authenticity of the brand. Though eBay is another source, I personally was skeptical because I just don’t know enough about the designer brands to spot a fake.
