Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. We really enjoyed spending some quality time with my family on my parents’ farm. I shared a snap on Instagram if you follow me there. Lots of fishing, playing with my adorable niece and nephew, eating my mom’s amazing food, and generally having a good time. It’s fun to trade my heels in for boots occasionally.
Today’s look is a totally recycled one. I love this gingham top. You last saw it here styled for a date night look. It’s one of my favorite pieces, but I’ll be honest, it feels a little one dimensional. I really wanted to get some additional wear out of it before the summer season closed, so I challenged myself to come up with another, more wearable outfit. Since work is where I spend most of my time, I added it to one of my all-time favorite pencil skirts and topped it with a jean jacket to make it office appropriate. I try to get creative with my workwear because it’s easy for it to get boring. It made me realize it’s easy to reinvent your workwear by styling a nontraditional work piece with more classic workwear for a polished and professional but non-stuffy look. How do you restyle pieces to make totally different looks or reinvent your workwear?

The gingham peplum crop could not be cuter. I love the idea of making a crop work for the office!

Love this, Amy Ann! I love that you’re wearing that cute gingham tank that I also featured in my Friday Faves post. It’s fun to see it come to life! I love mixing it up with my workwear, too!

Love how you mixed the gingham and the polka dots. Such a great idea. I love trying to get the most use out of my clothes as well. I actually just posted a shirtdress that I used as a vest on an outfit at my site. Check it out if you get a chance. I also love the denim jacket you added. Such a great outfit!

Love the combination of the gingham with the larger polka dots. Your outfit with the bright pink sandals made me smile! You look great in all 3 outfits.
I am so loving that skirt. And I totally agree with you, you have to reinvent your work style. It doesn’t have to be boring and you can definitely shine through each piece. I just enjoyed this post.

Awesome post, babe! Love this outfit. I tend to separate what I wear to work, and what I don’t. I need to mix the two more often, because I get stuck in such a rut!
