How cute is this tie back peplum top ($14)?! I’ve actually had it for a while and previously worn it on the blog here with this exact same bag. What can I say, I know what I like I guess. When I last shared it, I wore it with regular denim. Today I paired it with my white jeans and pink slides I cannot quit wearing. I actually bought these shoes specifically to wear with my dress for family photos. Even I have been shocked at how much I have worn a pink shoe.
It made me think about how to style statement shoes and why they are a great addition to any closet. This summer I have picked up a couple pairs of what I would consider statement shoes. They all happen to be flats that are supper easy to wear yet really make an outfit more fun! Today I thought I would round up the different ways I have styled them to share some ideas on how to style a statement shoe. Maybe it will encourage you to buy the colored version instead of the nude! I honestly don’t think there are any rules per say. Just add your shoe to any look when you want to increase interest. It doesn’t even have to match. Yellow can be so fun with a blue and white dress, pink with a green and white floral, etc. Or in one case below, the statement could be a studded pair which are still a neutral color.
