What is your go-to outfit on the weekend? With kids? For casual wear? More often than not, mine is a t-shirt and jeans or if not a t-shirt, a pretty casual top. Today, we are talking how to make your t-shirt and jeans more fun. A little less basic without more work but without taking away the functionality of a t-shirt and jeans (the whole reason we want to wear it anyway!).
How to Make Your T-Shirt and Jeans More Fun
- Start with a t-shirt with fun details. This doesn’t have to mean fancy. The one I am wearing is a regular striped shirt, but the colors of the stripes are fun. Maybe it has stripes around the neckline like this one or a peplum hem like my favorite one here. Or maybe it’s just a great white pocket tee like this one. Or maybe it is a flutter sleeve top like the one I wore here that functions just like a t-shirt. All of these start the base of a great yet casual and easy to wear outfit.
2. Add a statement earring! This is my all time favorite way to up the fun factor on a casual look. I’m a major fan of the Sugarfix line by BaubleBar at Target. They are all super fun and affordable. You’ve seen me style them a lot. The pair I am wearing today is just $13. Everything linked below is under $15!
3. Pick a fun flat. I’ve added more flats or platform espadrilles or super comfy wedges to my wardrobe lately. They make casual outfits that I can wear with Ivy Jean super easy yet still really cute. This is the pair I am wearing today. Super cute and affordable though I think they may take a little breaking in as the bow area isn’t super flexible.
4. Add lipstick. Lipstick is a no-fail way to dress up your outfit without actually doing anything to your clothing. Here I added a red lip to match my earrings and shoes.

I love how small accessories can completely change a casual outfit. A pair of bold earrings or fun flats adds personality without making the look feel overdone. I tend to keep my style simple, then switch gears by playing eaglercraft a browser-based sandbox game inspired by Minecraft, whenever I want a relaxing break from shopping or planning outfits.
I’ve learned a lot about how to mix t-shirts and jeans to look nice and classy. After learning about how to mix and match, I often play redactle to relax and have fun.
