Lately I haven’t felt much like shopping which isn’t like me at all. I am not sure I ever thought that sentence would be typed on this here blog. I think it’s a combination of my changing post-baby body and not getting out of the house much right now. Whatever the reason, I am realizing more than ever the importance of building your wardrobe with classic pieces. I haven’t found myself bored or lacking things to wear even without new items. Each piece in this post has been featured on the blog before and worn even more in real life.
With pieces like black denim, stripes, a classic moto jacket, and good boots, the combinations are endless. I’ve also gotten a lot of wear out of my favorite distressed denim and classic sweaters and scarves lately. What are your go-to classic items? I’m linking some favorites below in case you are looking to add some pieces to your closet.
I’m so excited to be co-hosting Rachelle’s weekly linkup with her today. I’ve followed her blog, Pink Sole, for ages and really feel like I know her. Isn’t it funny how blogs connect you that way. She’s the best and always shares such great style inspiration! I hope you’ll link up your posts below.

I love classic pieces like this, especially when they’re all paired together! Their are just so many different ways to wear them, together or separate.

I totally understand – I’m working on shopping and purchasing less and made it out of Nordstrom empty handed this weekend. (whoohoo!) Its good to step back and remix all the cool pieces we already own.

I feel like the hope has always been that once you’ve got a wardrobe full of classic, versatile pieces, that you wouldn’t really need to shop because you’ve got everything you need.

Loving this whole look! I’m in the same rut of the post baby body and not leaving the house much during the week which has been good for my wallet, but not my closet. Gimme all the stripes, and that jacket is a must have staple piece <3

Girl you look amazing! I with I had more classic pieces in my closet…that’s something I really need to work on. I always tell myself I will only shop for classic pieces and always end up getting something trendy that just doesn’t work for the following years.

You look great! I love the classic pieces you’ve styled here. You can never go wrong with neutrals or black and white stripes. I like the edge that the jacket structure and your ankle boots add to the look. I haven’t been shopping recently either. Mostly I’ve been focusing on inspiration for some decorating projects at home, and my budget is recovering from Christmas and vacation. I wrote about something similar on my blog today. 🙂
Yes to all of these! Having a foundation of timeless basics is a must! I love your jacket!
