Building Your Wardrobe with Classic Pieces + Linkup

January 9, 2017

Lately I haven’t felt much like shopping which isn’t like me at all. I am not sure I ever thought that sentence would be typed on this here blog. I think it’s a combination of my changing post-baby body and not getting out of the house much right now. Whatever the reason, I am realizing more than ever the importance of building your wardrobe with classic pieces. I haven’t found myself bored or lacking things to wear even without new items. Each piece in this post has been featured on the blog before and worn even more in real life.

With pieces like black denim, stripes, a classic moto jacket, and good boots, the combinations are endless. I’ve also gotten a lot of wear out of my favorite distressed denim and classic sweaters and scarves lately. What are your go-to classic items? I’m linking some favorites below in case you are looking to add some pieces to your closet.

I’m so excited to be co-hosting Rachelle’s weekly linkup with her today. I’ve followed her blog, Pink Sole, for ages and really feel like I know her. Isn’t it funny how blogs connect you that way. She’s the best and always shares such great style inspiration! I hope you’ll link up your posts below.

Stripes and black jeans are great closet staples. I think it is the season for the lack of motivation to shop. There isn’t much new out this season, and the weather isn’t the greatest. Thanks for the linkup! XO, Ellese

I totally agree with you and love this outfit you put together. Classic pieces really are the best and I’m doing my best to stick to the ‘less is more’ concept from now on. I actually wrote about the same thing on my blog today–great minds, ha! πŸ™‚

You can never go wrong with stripes! πŸ™‚ the newborn days area ll about baby and less about having time to shop so completely normal you’re spending less and just wearing what you already own. Plus yes the post-baby body changes make shopping so tricky! Even after the two boys my body was different each time!

Hope you are having a great start to the week and 2017!
