Floral and Stripes

June 20, 2016

Floral and stripes has always been one of my favorite ways to mix prints. As long as there is a similar color in both, in this case navy, it’s a no fail combination. I thought it was fun to mix things up a little by pairing this off the shoulder top, a trendier piece, with a classic floral midi skirt. Add in my pink bag and shoes, and you have a complete look. I have been surprised at how much wear I have gotten out of my pink accessories.

I hope you all had a good weekend! We had some friends over for dinner on Friday which combines two things I love: cooking and getting to know people around the table. I made truffle oil cheese pizza and BBQ chicken pizza using theย Pioneer Woman’s homemade pizza crust. Have you ever tried it? So good! With a salad, double dark shortbread cookies, and homemade ice cream (my husband’s favorite), we had a feast. Do you like to cook? I am always pinning new things to try and just looking for an excuse (follow me here). Saturday I got to spend the dayย with my family for Father’s Day, and it was so nice to be together. All in all, a great weekend.

You mixed patterns so well for this look! And oh my gosh, I want everything you cooked/baked over the weekend! For some reason, I have always been intimidated to make my own pizza crust, which is ridiculous since we live in Italy, haha. I pinned a recipe for chocolate shortbread cookies recently but still haven’t tried them yet.

I would never think to pair these two patterns together, but it looks amazing! Love the darker colors. Also, you sound like such a fantastic cook – I can’t wait to cook in our new kitchen, so I’ll have to check out that Pioneer Woman recipe.

I’ve always been a bit scared to mix floral and stripes. You really pulled off this look and look gorgeous as always.

Okay, my mouth is watering over your dinner–now you’ve got me wanting to make homemade pizza! (And of course homemade ice cream, but I always want that!) I love mixing floral and stripes, and these are so pretty together–I love how the blush pink accessories tie everything together!

Amy Ann this mix print look is stellar on you! I would never think to mix stripes and florals..it’s beautiful. Those Steve Madden lace ups have been sitting in my cart for a few days, you’re making it hard not to hit the purchase button ๐Ÿ™‚
