2022 Dressy Casual Spring and Summer Capsule Wardrobe – 10 Pieces, 26 Outfits, $164

I am not sure I have ever been so excited about a blog post! Nor have I ever put quite so much work into one post either. Below you will find what I am calling a 2022 dressy casual spring and summer capsule wardrobe. It’s made up of just 10 pieces which you can mix and match for 26+ outfits for a total of just $164. WHAT?! Everything is from the Free Assembly line at Walmart which you all know I love.

I had so many great pieces from them already, I decided to create a capsule! I’ve done this once before here, and it was a huge hit. Honestly, I think this one is even better. I added pieces that can be worn super casually because that is primarily my life, but I also included items you can dress up for church, events, etc. I think this one dressy casual spring and summer capsule wardrobe can really take you everywhere you need to go!

Although I included 26 outfits, there are really more you can make! I thought it might be easiest to break the capsule down by outfits, so that is what you will find below. This is a long, photo heavy post, but I wanted to put it all in one place.

Dressy Casual Spring and Summer Capsule Wardrobe Pieces

Below are the 10 pieces that make up my capsule. As you can see there are four tops: a pink t-shirt, a blue t-shirt, a white blouse, and a striped blouse/t-shirt. I included one layer, an adorable pink cardigan which can function as both a layer and a shirt on it’s own. There are four bottoms: a blue skirt, a great pair of skinny jeans, a classic pair of jean shorts, and a white pair of jean shorts. Lastly, I added one dress. The colors all work so well together. They are bright, fun and easy to mix and match! The most expensive item is the jeans at $27. You could skip those and use one you already have taking the cost of the entire capsule down to under $150. I mean, whoa!!

Sizing Notes

Everything is pretty true to size. In the shorts and jeans, if you are in between sizes or prefer things looser, go up. I know people often do not like shorts tight. If that is you, definitely go up. I am wearing an XS or a 2 in everything. The shorts are snug and are not extra stretchy though there is some give.

Pink Cardigan Outfits – $20

Let’s get started! I’ll introduce you to the outfits piece by piece starting with my pink cardigan. I love the weight of this and the fun white buttons. I have shared it before here, and it has remained a favorite. Wearing it buttoned up as a top on its own is a great way to make this capsule extra versatile! It pairs so well with each bottom item.

White Blouse – $11

This adorable white blouse with the eyelet sleeves is another piece I have shared before here. I love the sleeve detail and the cute side slits! Cannot believe it is marked down to just $11. It’s a piece you can easily dress up with jeans and wedges like I have done or down with shorts and sandals. You can pair it with the skirt for church or a baby shower too. This is the versatility of the capsule!

Blouse & Cardigan Combo

Now it’s time to take the two items above and pair them together for more looks! Wearing the cardigan open over the blouse is sooo cute too. I love the length of the cardigan because it doesn’t overwhelm your frame and makes the perfect light layer for any cooler days or chilly inside spots.

Blue T-Shirt – $12

This blue t-shirt is a favorite of mine!! I’ve had it for a while now. I first shared it back in March here. It’s super soft, and I love the heathered look. The lighter blue color is trending right now, and it pairs perfectly with the slightly darker denim, blue skirt, and white shorts. win! That casual yet super cute look you want.

Pink T-Shirt – $10

If you cannot tell from the capsule, I am a huge fan of pink! This is such a great price for this tee too! I love the Free Assembly t-shirts as they are super affordable and really good quality. This one is a slightly shorter, boxier fit than the one above. I really like it for a front tuck. The pink is such a fun color contrast with all the capsule bottoms! In real life it is actually a little more vibrant than the online photos show. Closer to what you see in mine.

White Dress – $17

This is such a great quality dress for the price! It’s lined with pockets and not see through which is rare in my opinion. It’s a great length. Pairs well on it’s own or with the cardigan over it. I loved adding a dress to the capsule for versatility. It seems like spring and summer always have some fun events!

Striped Top – $9

Last but not least is this adorable striped top! I actually think this and the skirt are my favorite pieces of the capsule. I cannot believe it is just $9!! It has the cutest elastic gathered sleeves. Stripes are such a classic! I had to add some to the mix. When I mentioned above that you could make even more looks with this, one idea is to add the cardigan over this top. I paired it with the skirt and cardigan one day recently and loved the combination even more than with just the plain white blouse.
