I wanted to wrap up my mini casual capsule wardrobe series with one last post. I’ve shared 10 outfits using 13 pieces that are basics in most wardrobes. I started with an intro post and the two ways I styled my camo shirt, 4 ways to wear a chambray shirt, and 4 ways to wear a white t-shirt. My goal was to really help share how to mix and match your closet using key pieces most all of us own.
Mini Casual Wardrobe – 13 Pieces You Need
Below is exactly what I picked, but you can easily flex this to suit your needs and preferences. I think it is important to keep print/solid/colors in mind/the same if you want to recreate my outfits. As I mentioned in my intro post, you can easily change this up for seasons by changing a few things in each section (summer shoes, shorts for jeans, add heavier jackets, boots, and scarves for winter, etc.).
- 4 Tops – Solid White, Stripe, Chambray, Print (I picked camo – short sleeve option, long sleeve)
- 3 Bottoms – Regular Denim (also here), White Denim, Distressed Denim
- 4 Shoes – White Mule, Leopard Mule (option), Pink Sneaker, Black Slip On Sneakers
- 2 Jackets – Utility Jacket and Leather Jacket (option) – if this isn’t your thing, you could always do a cardigan
13 Total Looks – All Easy to Recreate
I wanted to create one visual for you to see all the outfits together. You can easily pin this image to save the post and come back to it. Hopefully having this one image will help you mix and match your closet! Honestly the biggest take away for me was that having great basics really created a base for so many great outfits! I could have made many more, but I thought you all might get bored. 😉 Honestly, I surprised myself with how much fun I had created this series. I hope you have enjoyed it as well!

Love your posts! Just what I’ve been looking for!!!
Hi Amy!! Love your taste and style! I think that most ages could pull off these looks, with minor tweaks depending on age. I am 51, so I only wear minor distressed jeans and no white jeans! Wondering why you dont wear belts? And would love to see your outfits with alternatives for older women swap ideas. It is tough as you age… I am an active “young feeling” woman that still has older teens at home yet. I want to look hip and stylish without looking like I am “trying to hard” or dressing to young/old. Thx! Dawn
These are great outfits, I will say though, that I wouldn’t call it ” maximising”, only 10 outfits out of 13 pieces- I bet you could do lots more! Nice classic but fun pieces, love it.
You could definitely do much more with these pieces! This was meant to hopefully help get people started. 🙂
Hope you have a great weekend!
This post was awesome!!! Do you have a Fall edition like this?!? If so, please share!
This is a capsule wardrobe for a college student, NOT a career woman!
Ripped out jeans? Really, doesn’t show much class sorry.
Yes, as titled, this is a casual capsule wardrobe. I am a stay at home mom in my 30s, so it is appropriate for me. I am sure you can find a capsule wardrobe for an office if that is what you are looking for. Maybe it wouldn’t be so distasteful to you.
Silly career woman… Use your words to search for the thing you’re looking for instead of complaining that this isn’t it ???
Such a great guide dear! Love your picks!
