I LOVE my chambray shirt! My wear of it has actually increased since being pregnant which I wasn’t sure was possible. I included it in my capsule wardrobe series and shared 4 ways to style it then. My Favorite Affordable Chambray Shirt
When it comes to what chambray shirt to buy, honestly you cannot go wrong with anything. My favorite, super affordable one is from Old Navy. I first bought the darker of the two options and wore it for two years. I recently added the lighter one too because it’s just such a great basic worn SO much in wardrobe. I am wearing one of them in all the pictures below except the short sleeve one.
Double Denim
Who doesn’t love double denim or the gold old Canadian tuxedo?! This is probably the most classic way to wear a denim shirt, and it’s always a good idea!
Pair Your Chambray Top with Colored Jeans
When trying to decide how to wear a chambray shirt, you can always pair it with one of your colored jean options like white or black for a contrast to the denim. As evidenced by the photos below, it is one of my favorite and easy chambray shirt outfit ideas. These looks are all so simple and would be great as part of a capsule wardrobe.
Chambray Shirt Open with Jeans
Want another way to wear your chambray shirt? Put on your favorite jeans and t-shirt combo and top it with your shirt.
Tie Your Chambray Shirt Around Your Waist with Jeans
Want to define your waist without the bulk of a jean jacket? Try tying a chambray shirt around your waist with your jeans. You can keep it super casual with a t-shirt and white jeans like I did below.
Open Over a Dress
Similar to the picture below, you can maximize your summer dresses by adding a chambray shirt open over them.
Tie Chambray Shirt Over Dress
In a closet rut? Button your chambray shirt just a couple buttons and tie it over a dress this summer! It gives a whole new look to your favorite dresses. They can be fitted but don’t have to be! It’s a great way to define your waist with a non-fitted dress too.
Tie Your Chambray Shirt Around Your Waits with a Dress
I love tying a chambray shirt around my waist with a dress to add a little more coverage. It’s especially nice when you have a more fitted dress and want some coverage without adding heat in the summer.
