How to Use Walmart’s Online Pickup & Delivery Service + Why We Love It

September 2, 2020

The Arnold house is surviving on all things that make life easier during this newborn baby life stage! We’ve used Walmart’s Online Pickup & Delivery service for four years now – notice how that coincides with Ivy Jean’s arrival. 😉 Since the pandemic started, I don’t think there has been a week we’ve missed scheduling our order. In collaboration with Walmart, I wanted to share how to use Walmart’s Online Pickup & Delivery plus why we love it.

How to Use Walmart’s Online Pickup & Delivery Service

If you are new to the grocery pickup system, Walmart makes it super easy! $35 minimum and small delivery fee apply. Pickup and Delivery available in select markets. Here’s everything you need to know:

  • Order items through grocery.walmart.com or through the blue Walmart mobile app – we use the app!
  • Select your pickup time based on your availability
  • Check-in via the app when your order is ready
  • Drive to your store and park in the designated pickup spots
  • Wait for an associate to bring your contactless pickup to you (receipt via email/app)
We've used Walmart’s Online Pickup & Delivery service for four years now, and today I am sharing all the details on how easy it is to do a contactless grocery pickup!

Why We Love Walmart’s Online Pickup & Delivery Service

Hands down the main reason I love ordering groceries is the ease, especially when it comes to saving time as a mom. I remember trying to take Ivy Jean in as a toddler one week when we didn’t schedule a pickup. She refused to sit in the cart and tried to touch everything on the shelves. It’s been online ordering ever since! Not to mention, I don’t come out with snacks I hadn’t planned on. Ha!

Lately the primary reason we love Walmart’s Online Pickup & Delivery Service is because of the completely contactless pickup. We check-in, drive up, open our trunk, stay in the car while the groceries are loaded, close the trunk from inside our car, and drive home with everything we need!

Another reason we love Walmart as opposed to other places is because they have groceries AND other items like toiletries and cleaning supplies. This saves us from having to make two orders/stops.

One of my favorite things is being able to start a pickup and add things throughout the week as I think of them. No keeping lists since it’s all stored on the app – mom win! The app also allows you to save favorite items you order regularly. It makes it really fast to go through and add all your essentials each time.

Ever wondered how to use Walmart's online pickup & delivery service? We've used and loved it for years! Sharing all the details today on how we make our grocery trip happen each week!

Freshness Guarantee

One thing I was unsure about when we started using the ordering service was not getting to select my own items, especially produce. I’ve found the associates often pick better items than I would have! Especially when it comes to avocados. 😉 Can anyone else not pick an avocado to save their life?! If anything is out of stock, they will substitute an item of equal or better quality for you. If you’d prefer not to have this done, you can select no substitutions on items or reject the substitution. Many of you all know that I eat a plant based vegan diet, so produce makes up the bulk of our grocery orders. I couldn’t handle bad fruits and veggies!

We don’t have a Wal-Mart near us, but I I do love ordering on line and picking up in store (with curbside delivery, of course)!

I remember those early days well, so lucky to have the delivery service! I had a really helpful sister-in-law to look after the kids when I shopped. You look stunning too, and have such a sweet baby. Jacqui x

Precious pictures! We do the Wallmart pickup every 2 weeks and it has been nice. Just found out they have the delivery service so we may do that.

My good friend has been using Walmart pick up since the beginning of this pandemic and she loves it! Walmart is a bit out of the way from where I live, so I have just been braving my tiny little local grocery store. Which honestly is always empty so it has not been an issue at all. But I really wish they had a pick up service like this when my kids were babies! How much easier that would have made my life. I remember in the middle of a snowstorm one year while I was pregnant and had a toddler and my husband lived in another state for work, I called to order a pizza and asked if they would get a gallon of milk for me on the way and they did! I tipped very well so it was the most expensive gallon of milk I ever purchased, but it was totally worth the convenience!

We have used online delivery service too and I agree that it saves a lot of headaches and tears! My son just didn’t like to be sitting down and even as a baby he wanted to be held instead of inside a stroller so services that make life easier is game changing!

We don’t have a Walmart near us, unfortunately:( But we have used services like this frequently, too. I made the mistake of not doing this with Aviah, but with Ariah I made sure I did! Things can get very overwhelming with two, so services like this allow for one less thing to worry about. Thanks for sharing your experience with Walmart. I’ll be sure to suggest it to some of my friends who have one near them!

We have shopped exclusively at Target for years, but with the pandemic and so many items not being available for their Drive Up feature we have switched to the Walmart grocery pick up. We are officially converted because it’s SO convenient and saves us so much time 😀

I’ve never used an online grocery service and need to check this out! It would have come in so handy over the past several months!

We used online grocery delivery when we had a newborn and a toddler – it was easier than trying to figure out how to get them both out of the house and through the shop without going crazy, haha! It does get easier when they are bigger but now of course with all the virus stuff around (we have 28 cases in our state in our second wave which is crazy high numbers for us!) we are back to online ordering! 🙂

Thanks for the link up 🙂

Hope that your week is going well 🙂
