I am so excited to be stepping into the new year with Famous Footwear to share how I stay active and healthy. I am honestly not a big fan of new years resolutions. It seems like every time I set them, I fail and just end up feeling bad about myself. What works better for me is a regular routine of a healthy diet and active lifestyle.
Stepping into the New Year with Famous Footwear – How I Stay Active & Healthy
- Find an activity that works for YOU – In my life as a working mom who also blogs on the side, there just isn’t really a great time for hitting the gym. Sure, I could go after Ivy Jean goes to sleep, but I am beat by that time. Or I could do it at home at the same time, but the same principle applies. What does work for me is taking walks with her on the days I am home, after work as a family when Russ gets home, or hitting the park. Believe me chasing her at the park is exercise! When I incorporate Ivy Jean into the exercise, we both enjoy it. We stop mid-walk and play somewhere usually. Oklahoma isn’t so cold in the winter that we cannot do this at all during the cold months though it is less frequent.
- Have fun workout gear – Famous Footwear offers so many great women’s athletic shoes! I was really impressed with their selection. I had been wanting a black tennis shoe I could wear with everything. My regular pair had seen better days, so I selected this Nike Foundation pair, and I love how light it is while providing support. I hate spending too much money on workout clothes, but the reality is I do wear tennis shoes, leggings, and casual tops a lot. It is important to have good supportive shoes, and Famous Footwear offers great prices.
- Plan your meals – Each week Russ and I look at our calendars, plan a meal to have at home, and schedule an online grocery pick-up. Thank goodness for grocery pick-ups! They save my life. Having (easy) meals planned saves me from last might more unhealthy choices. This allows me to feel like I have more freedom to indulge on the weekend.
Thank you to Famous Footwear for kindly sponsoring this post. All opinions are 100% honest & completely my own.
