Utility Shirt Details

This particular utility shirt is from Old Navy and is only $34 though I have never seen it not on sale. I am wearing a size small so that I could button it over my pregnant belly. I would usually need an XS since it does have a but of a relaxed fit.

How to Style a Button Up Shirt Option 1 – With a Dress

Whether you style your button up shirt open over a dress, tied at the waist, or even layered with another outerwear option, pairing a utility shirt with a dress is always a fun idea! I personally love the army green since it works with white and black equally as well. I also switched up my accessories to easily change up my look too.

When considering how to style a button up shirt, pairing it with a dress is a no-brainer! Whether you style it open or buttoned up and tied, each look is equally as awesome.

I love the idea of dressing down a button up shirt by tying it and pairing it with low key accessories like a ball cap and sneakers.

How to Style a Button Up Shirt Option 1 – With Shorts or a Skirt

I loved pairing my button front shirt both open AND closed with shorts and shirts. What I love about button up shirts is that you can layer another shirt underneath and achieve a totally different look and feel than if you just wore it closed. I do this with flannel shirts in the fall and winter a lot.

How to Style a Button Up Shirt Option 1 – With Jeans

Last but not least, try your button front shirt with jeans! Though I picked white jeans since I am posting this in the spring, you could easily swap them out for regular colored jeans. In the fall and winter try pairing these looks with a cute ankle boot.

A utility or button up shirt is a great option for jeans. Either style it buttoned up or open layered over your favorite t-shirt.

Each of these outfits look so good on you! I need a new shirt, I make the mistake of buying them too small and I think if I bought one slightly oversized I’d have more options, thanks for the inspo!
