I love a good work look. What I love even more is a work look with personality. This dress is business in the front, party in the back. When I got it from Banana Republic, I won’t lie, I was at a little bit of a loss as to how to style it. The front of the dress seemed more formal to me, and I love the open cross back but it obviously wasn’t fit for work worn alone. When faced with this dilemma, the option is simple: layer! Either add a blazer on top or a blouse underneath. I opted to add my favorite blouses underneath it for a work chic look. You could easily wear it alone for drinks maximizing the versatility. The material is a stretchy point fabric. It’s currently on sale, so snag it now!
You can see how I previously styled this blouse (only $18) for work with pants here. My bag is also a favorite and is also on sale. It’s been on the blog more times than I can even count! I love the structure.

Stunning dress! You look amazing and can pull of any look!
Isn’t That Charming.
Love this look! The dress looks fabulous over the blouse 🙂
Totally unexpected surprise in the back of the dress. I love it and looks so comfy! It’s a year round dress that looks great the way you styled it with the blouse. I would even see it with a contrasting colour. Would love to connect at http://the-wardrobe-stylist.com/2017/08/01/exercise-routine-saves-life-threatening-problems/
What a pair ! I would have never thought it was a layered blouse had you not mentioned it. Just fab.
This is genius! At first glance it looks like it belongs like this!

Such a fun look, Amy Ann! I can’t believe this top is under $20! This outfit is so chic, and I love the criss-cross back detail of the dress.
Love how you styled this. Personally, I always have trouble with layering like this but this is something I might have to try with a dress I own. Thanks for the idea!

I absolutely ADORE this outfit. In fact, when I first saw it, I fell head over heels in love with this extraordinary dress (thinking that the blouse and dress were one). Good to know that the blouse doesn’t cost much extra! 😉

So cute and such a great idea! I’m terrible with remixing/layering pieces in my closet that don’t “obviously” go together.
I would absolutely wear this look to my office! I’m obsessed! Well done!
Much love from Napa Valley!
