Protect Your Skin and Stay Stylish

July 25, 2016

You can probably tell by my pasty white skin (thank goodness for Tan Towels!) that the sun and I have never been friends. I’ve never been tan, only red, after spending time in the sun. As I have gotten older, sun protection has become more and more important to me. My face moisturizer has sunscreen in it. If I know I am going to be outside for any length of time, I lather up. You can imagine my excitement when I found out about SUMMERSKIN. Their clothing allows you to protect your skin and stay stylish. The material blocks 98% of UV rays. Win, win! You can use the code Amy20 for a 20% off discount too!

Today the Blogger Nation girls and I are all styling looks from their collection, so be sure to check their blogs too. I picked this maxi dress (sleeves version here) and wrap. Dresses are a huge part of my summer wardrobe, so it was a no-brainer. While I am wearing the wrap as a scarf today, it has multiple styling options making it the perfect piece to pack when traveling. Speaking of traveling, I had a great time with my mom in Chicago this past weekend. She was kind enough to take me shopping for some maternity clothes, and we always have so much fun together. I had one of those moments where time seems to stop and you realize all the beauty in your life and reflect on it. I’m so thankful for my family and this growing babe! I cannot wait to share what I got with you in the months to come! We just made a quick trip (Friday – Sunday morning) and didn’t leave the Magnificent Mile. I hope to go back again one day and visit all the blogger babes I love who live in Chicago!

i totally agree with you that packing a scarf for travelling is a great idea. I usually end up using it as a blanket on a plane.

I had to LOL over “the sun and I have never been friends” because that is my situation too. #palegirlproblems Anyway, I love this dress, and how cool that it has built-in sun protection!!

That’s great that the fabric offers up sun protection – I never really thought about some fabrics not being able to block out the rays. Love how you’ve cinched the dress with the knot too!

I’ve heard about this brand before and I think their concept is genius! I love the dress you selected, it’s so versatile and you’ve styled it perfectly here with that cute western belt (I NEED to get one!). Thank so much for sharing, gorgeous, and I hope you’re having the best start to your week so far!

You look great!! I like that charcoal color on you a lot! Despite being 50% Irish I tan easily (mix of other things, etc), but since living in Colorado I gotta be more careful because being that much closer to the sun is sooooo much more brutal on one’s skin! So I hear you! Also…I was in Chicago 2 weekends ago with my mom and we also never really left the Magnificent Mile!! Glad you had fun! XO
