So I started to title this post “How to Style a Sweater Dress.” I was going to talk about how I love wearing tall boots and a long layer over the top. Then I searched my blog for related posts to add other examples… Well, it turns out I posted the exact title a little over a year ago here. Little did I know that would be Ivy Jean’s birthday, and that was one of the last sets of blog photos we took while I was pregnant. I wore the same boots and a long layer. Ha! Apparently I know myself well.
I digress… The truth is, one of my favorite ways to style a sweater dress is with tall boots. Here’s another even older example. If you aren’t into over the knee, boots that come to your knee work just as well. It doesn’t matter if they have a heel or not! I really do love adding a long layer on top like this really fun plaid coat. Sweater dresses are often fitted, and adding another layer always helps me feel more comfortable. One of the things I love about this ruffle hem sweater dress is that is still has an adorable shape without being too fitted.
