Test Driving a Jetta

May 11, 2016

I’m excited to be sharing something a little different today. I’ve spent the last couple of days test driving a Jetta thanks to Don Thornton Volkswagen here in Tulsa, and I’ll be teaming up with them in the future too to share some of their other options. If you’re in the Tulsa area, you can get a $25 Visa gift card just for coming by for a test drive! All you have to do is sign up here.

I’ve driven an SUV since I turned 16, and Russ has a truck. Being behind the wheel of a car was a new experience for me. Russ and I spent Saturday afternoon checking out a new brewpub in downtown Tulsa before running some errands and snapping pics. I’m terrible at parallel parking. As in, I just avoid it and park farther away if necessary.Β It was nice to have a smaller car with a backup camera. The Jetta also has Apple CarPlay which was really cool. I just plugged in my phone and had access to my apps and Siri. The best part was the ability to use Google Maps. I won’t lie, it was sure fun to have that new car smell for a couple days! Oh, and get 40 miles/gallon on the highway.

My outfit details are below. I’m loving this blush top with my grey jeans and heels. My sunglasses and bag are both new and both amazing dupes. These sunnies are $50 compared to the real $400 Celine pair, and my bag is a $27 Chloe dupe.

Thanks to Don Thornton VW for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What a fun experience getting to test drive the Jetta! I also drive an SUV so it’s always weird at first to get behind the wheel of a sedan. Loving your look, and what a great bag!

You look in the Jetta! It sure would be hard to give up an SUV thought even for the great gas mileage, but definitely sounds like a fun experience to drive a different car for a few days

What a fun experience! It’s been a while since I’ve driven an actual car too – I have a Jeep!

Such great shoes! It’s funny because I’ve always driven smaller cars. Right now I’m actually thinking about trading in my current car for an SUV (or at least a CUV). I used to own a Jetta — it was my very first car — and I absolutely hated it, lol. It was super cute, but had way too many issues. I’m sure they’re much better now as that was like more than a decade ago.

Oooh la la. Now this is a cool experience & you look absolutely divine too. I love the fun red color of the Jetta. The ability to use Google Maps is a bonus. :]

How fun! I had the opposite issue this past year. I switched from a car to an SUV! Switching takes some practice! Love your fun heels!

Love the outfit, especially the glasses! What a fun experience! I relate; I’ve driven an SUV since I was 19 and whenever I drive a friend’s car or rent a different car it takes a second to adjust to being lower!! XO

Oh how fun! I’ve been driving my 2006 Camry since, well, 2006, so riding around in a new car sounds like a great time! I love your look too–the combination of blush pink and soft gray is always so pretty.

Oh my gosh, the new car smell is THE BEST! My husband and I are debating a new car. I’ve never driven a Jetta but it was one of the first cars I ever wanted when I first began to drive so maybe it’s time to test one out!

I love your charcoal denim – and the fringe booties. Great outfit – to match the car. I am with you on parallel parking – I used to be so good at it when I was younger – now it scares me.
