How fun is this floral and flares combo?! I have one pair of flare jeans that I really love. Since I do wear them a lot, I knew it would be nice to have a lighter colored option. They seem a little more casual and also perfect for spring. This pair from Fidelity hits all the marks. It was a new brand for me, but the quality and fit are really great. I paired my denim with a tie front floral blouse, a suede vest, and my lace up peep toe bootie (a favorite from last year that is still available). Together it makes for the perfect 70s vibe, which you know I have been all about lately! I just got this suede vest, and I think it will be the perfect layering piece for spring. Suede seems to be a big trend! I wore this outfit to for my nephew’s birthday party this weekend. So fun! I also wore this vest to church on Sunday. On Monday, I swapped my jeans for my striped Ann Taylor slacks (seen here and now on sale!) and wore them to work. #RealLife
In the nature of transparency and in an effort to also share pieces of myself rather than just my clothes (which I love doing!), it’s been a week y’all. As many of you may know, Russ and I started our first round of IVF last week. We are so excited, prayerful, and hopeful for this journey. It’s not one we have entered into lightly. In reality, what it looks like on a daily basis right now is a lot of shots and fluctuating hormones. Woof. I also have several friends going through really heavy stuff, and my heart is burdened for them. One of my best friends lost her sister last week unexpectedly, and today I stand beside her at the funeral. Adulting is no joke you all. The realities of life are difficult. I am comforted by the reminder in this Lenten season that we do not have a God who is unacquainted with or distant from our suffering. He enters it with us. Easter is coming.

Amy, I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. That’s never easy and my prayers go out to you and your friend<3. I hope all the treatments go well and wishing you the best of luck with everything. On a lighter note, I love you in flares and you should definitely be rocking them more often! Thinking of you! You’re definitely right, adulting is no joke. I hope your treatments are going well.

I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. I can’t even imagine how hard this must be for your best friend, her family and you. My heart goes out to you. Being a grown up is tough sometimes. Good luck with your IVF treatments. My sister in-law just finished another round of IVF and was successful implanted with embryos yesterday. Now, it’s the waiting game but they are my inspiration (and my husband too), they never give up ( 4th round).
On another note – loving this 70’s look. Your top is so cute. Flares are so hot right now!

First, I’m so sorry and saddened to learn of the loss of your friend’s sister, my condolences are extended. There are so many things that happen in our lives and in the ones of our closest that we can’t understand, our human minds cannot grasp it and I think that’s what was intended. If we were able to figure everything out, those of us who do believe in God wouldn’t because there wouldn’t be a need for a connection to Someone greater than us who knows all things and who we can put our hope and trust in. I’m hopeful and prayerful with both you and Russ that this will be a positive experience. As for your outfit, what’s not to love?! Everything works together so perfectly, as always 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day, beautiful!
XO,
Jalisa
