Off the Grid

February 25, 2015

I was excited to be contacted by Boohoo and asked to participate in their Throwback Thursday campaign. This included picking a style icon from the past who inspired me and then creating a look. It was fun to decide on a person, pick the clothing, and then style my outfit as a nod to her. Of course I chose Audrey Hepburn. I love her classic style. I mean, who doesn’t? Now if only I actually looked like her… I picked a fun pair of grid print trousers and a contrast collar blouse in effort to mimic Audrey’s tailored menswear looks. It’s been pretty cold around here, so I styled my pants for church and then with the short sleeve blouse at home. I’m curious, who would you have picked as a style icon?

Totally unrelated to fashion and more on the personal side, but if you are looking for a great devotional for Lent, I highly recommend She Reads Truth. I recommend it in general, but they have a Lent devotional out that I have really been enjoying. They always have a current plan going with all the past ones available. Some are on topics and some are on books of the Bible. The Thanksgiving one was especially meaningful to me earlier this year.

Print-mixing prooooooo! I need to mix prints more, methinks. I wear a lot of print without mixing a lot of print, you know what I’m sayin’? This black and white combo is a winner. πŸ™‚

    Happy Thursday, Amy Ann!

You can never go wrong with Audrey Hepburn as a style icon! I love this look, I almost tried on a similar pair of pants yesterday. I may have to go back and try them on after seeing this post. Great look!

The pattern mixing make such a statement but the look is still so polished! I think my style icon would be Olivia Palermo!

I am so obsessed with this look! I love the clean and simple silhouette and lines. Grid prints has quickly become one of my favorite trends. Those pieces are seriously to die for and I have such an obsession with vests, so I thought your vest was the perfect finishing touch. Such a great look!
