Off the Grid

February 25, 2015

I was excited to be contacted by Boohoo and asked to participate in their Throwback Thursday campaign. This included picking a style icon from the past who inspired me and then creating a look. It was fun to decide on a person, pick the clothing, and then style my outfit as a nod to her. Of course I chose Audrey Hepburn. I love her classic style. I mean, who doesn’t? Now if only I actually looked like her… I picked a fun pair of grid print trousers and a contrast collar blouse in effort to mimic Audrey’s tailored menswear looks. It’s been pretty cold around here, so I styled my pants for church and then with the short sleeve blouse at home. I’m curious, who would you have picked as a style icon?

Totally unrelated to fashion and more on the personal side, but if you are looking for a great devotional for Lent, I highly recommend She Reads Truth. I recommend it in general, but they have a Lent devotional out that I have really been enjoying. They always have a current plan going with all the past ones available. Some are on topics and some are on books of the Bible. The Thanksgiving one was especially meaningful to me earlier this year.

That last picture channels Audrey’s style perfectly! I’m not good at pattern mixing, but you pull it off perfectly here and those pants are great!

Such a great look. Great mix of lines and window panes. The look has such a nice long lean look to it. Not to mention you’ve styled it perfectly. Letting the ensemble rule the look and keeping the accessories simple was brilliant. You look great.

I’m a big fan of the window pane pattern. I did a post a long time ago on it. Way back on Oct.18th, 2013 I posted a look in head to toe window pane. I still own those pieces. I still love them.
