Combat boots are really having a moment lately! Especially the lug sole style boot, i.e. the rubber sole with indentions/grooves for maximum grip. As I admitted in this post, it took me a while to come around to this highly popular trend. However, now I am hooked! I searched high and low for a boot that I really liked. I was looking for a pair that was flattering on my foot and ankle AND wasn’t crazy expensive. Enter this $40 pair from Target. Ever since finding it, I have hardly had it off my feet! Are you like me and wanting to try the combat boot trend but a little unsure how to pull them off? Then this post is for you! I’m sharing all about how to wear combat boots from casual to dressy!
How to Wear Combat Boots
Style Your Combat Boots with Leggings
First up in my tips on how to style combat boots is my favorite and the easiest way – style your combat boots with leggings!! When temperatures drop everyone loves leggings! I would say that really any top you would normally wear with leggings aside from a t-shirt you can pair with your combat boots. Below are a few ideas and corresponding photos. All my photos happen to be with leather leggings because they are my favorite, but regular leggings totally work too!
- Sweater vest
- Poncho or any type of long tunic sweater (full post on that look here)
- Long puffer vest (details on that look here)
- Shacket
- Shirt and long cardigan (full post on that look here)
Over Skinny Jeans
Since combat boots by nature are generally a taller boot with a wider shaft, they work really well worn over a skinny jean. Try them with a leather jacket or pair them with a girlier sweater like I have done for a fun contrast!
With a Dress
I actually really love the combination of a the tougher combat style boot with a more feminine dress. I have a black sweater dress I think they go really well with, and I also recently shared my black fitted dress with my tan coatigan and boots in this post. I would encourage you to get creative!
Shopbop Sale
Shopbop is having a huge sale for Black Friday, and it has already kicked off! You can take 15-30% off with up to 50% off using the code HOLIDAY. I highly recommend checking out the AGOLDE jeans section. They are my favorite designer jean brand making them the perfect thing to snag on sale! I’d also recommend checking out Line & Dot. They are the brand who makes my long camel coatigan/duster that you all have loved! I did size down one. My other favorite to check out is BB Dakota. They have a lot of my favorites I have shared recently on sale plus some great holiday sequins! I’ll put pics at the end for reference.
