I recently bought this amazing tan coatigan. It’s not super heavy/thick material, and I am absolutely in LOVE! It’s a gorgeous, timeless piece. I’ve been eyeing the J.Crew version, but it’s often sold out which lead me to this version via Line in Dot at Shopbop. Since purchasing it, I have worn it multiple ways. I thought it would be fun to share 6 ways to wear a tan coatigan with you. I love getting creative with my closet. 6 Ways to Wear a Tan Coatigan

With Black Jeans/Pants and a White Top

Probably the easiest and most classic pairing is black jeans or pants for a work version and a white top or blouse. I’m wearing a simple white ribbed tank. I added my black mules, but you could do a black pump or even a sneaker. You can take this one pairing and dress it up or down depending on where you want to wear it.

Pair with Your Favorite Plaid

I LOVE camel and red together, so it was really fun to break out my favorite red plaid flannel shirt. You could do a red and black or white and black buffalo plaid too. I added my favorite cognac booties (use code LTD2107 for 20% off), but you could do any shoe you have.

Try Leggings and Stripes

Okay let’s be real, I live in my leggings! Next up in my 6 ways to wear a tan coatigan had to be a legging option! I grabbed my favorite striped t-shirt, added my current favorite $26 faux leather leggings, and the boots I am currently obsessed with (more on this post) for a cool and easy outfit!

Dress It Up with a Cami and Heels

I love dressing up my coatigan for date night with a lace cami and heels. This looks feels so fun and different than the others to me! My exact cami is old, but my same jeans are available. I ordered the long and trimmed them to be the perfect length for me.

Pair with a Chambray Shirt

Who doesn’t love a chambray shirt?! I’ve had mine from Old Navy forever (shop it here and here)! It’s perfect under camel/tan, and I especially love it paired with a leopard shoe. I picked my black crop flare jeans, but you could do regular denim or even a dressier black pant for work.

Try It Over a Dress

Last but not least, try your coatigan over a dress! I opted for my favorite black fitted dress and boots. I do recommend a shorter more fitted dress so you don’t have a ton of competing fabric around your ankles.
