I’m so excited to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Woodland Hills Mall here in Tulsa in a really meaningful way. Each Sunday this month they are teaming up with one local breast cancer organization to treat one breast cancer survivor to a day of fun! I was fortune enough to be partnered with Raine via Project 31. Raine is just 5 weeks out of having a double mastectomy after having undergone chemotherapy. She’s a single mom to a beautiful 4 year old little girl. She’s basically incredible, so strong, and has the most positive attitude. It was such a gift to get to spend the day with her.
Makeup at Dillard’s
Our first stop was meeting with Jordan, a wonderful makeup artist at Dillard’s. She did and incredible job doing Raine’s makeup while we all chatted. Raine told us she loves a red lip, so Jordan made it happen! It was so fun, and she is a natural beauty.
Having Fun with Fashion
Next up was putting together some looks to make Raine feel great! Let me tell you, Raine is FUN!!! She is a dress girl at heart which made me like her even more since I am too. She gravitated towards the most standout pieces in the store!! Together we picked out some really great outfits with even more fun shoes. I love that she wasn’t afraid to pick out pieces that were a little out of her comfort zone too. We picked a long, emerald evening gown with the help of the Dillard’s sales associate, a metallic fit and flare dress, and a red one shoulder jumpsuit.
Project 31
Raine is part of Project 31. “Through peer-to-peer relationships, mentoring, support groups, activities, events, counseling scholarships and more, we are here to provide the resources women and their families need to heal from the scars that breast cancer leaves on your heart.” Their annual Paint the Town Pink fundraiser is coming up too!
