As you probably know, I work with Shopbop on a monthly basis to host my sidebar widget on the blog (disclosure here). I receive a credit in return. This month I decided to use my credit to purchase some special birthday party and baptism dresses for Jane Evelyn’s big days! What better way than to splurge on some dresses than these special occasions!? I ordered several to try for one year photos, her birthday party, and also her baptism. I thought I would share a little try on and a few details about them here since I don’t have full blog posts.
Birthday Party Dress by Yumi Kim
The dress I ultimately decided to keep and wear for Jane Evelyn’s birthday party is this gorgeous one by Yumi Kim. I have always admired her feminine designs and wanted one of her dresses. This striped maxi dress with the tie straps just felt like a party dress to me! It has a side zipper and runs true to size. I am so happy with how it turned out!! Warning, it is not lined, so I wore a slip underneath.
Baptism Dress by Shoshanna
Jane Evelyn’s baptism was such a special day! We put it off a little longer than we normally would have thanks to COVID. Since Russ’s family was already coming in for her birthday, we decided to have it on the same weekend so they could be here for both. It made the whole weekend extra special. To baptize our miracle girl who our whole church family had prayed for along side us is really just more than I can adequately put into words. Our pastor also happens to be one of our best friends and also who baptized Ivy Jean. Whew, let’s just say I was emotional. I ended up wearing the same dress I wore to the wedding Russ and I attended recently seen here. It is a gorgeous blue floral print by Shoshanna, and I could not love it more! This is a designer I have long admired.
En Saison Dress
This gorgeous white En Saison dress was one of the ones I ordered and ended up sending back. I LOVED it, but it was a bit sheer on the bottom. I have never had one of his designs before, and they are all so beautiful! It fit true to size. I recommend them for the quality vs the price. In this photo I am wearing my Loeffler Randall heels. They have been a pair I have had my eye on for some time now, and I am obsessed!! They come in several color and heel heights.
I loved the rainbow stripe of this Amanda Uprichard maxi dress! This is the one Ivy Jean wanted me to keep. 😉 I loved it, but I ended up going with the one above.
