How to Wear a Utility Shirt

January 13, 2021

I’m continuing my no buy January today with a long time favorite. I have had and worn this utility shirt so much! I think it is such a wardrobe staple just like a chambray shirt. I have actually written a blog post with EIGHT ways to style it and shared a full outfit post with it while pregnant. It makes a great look on it’s own as well as a great outer layer. I’ll share pictures from both of those posts below. Today I chose to layer it over a simple v-neck white t-shirt paired with my favorite jeans and flat taupe ankle boots. I love the simple yet chic combination.

Have you ever wondered how to wear a utility shirt? Today I am sharing this look plus eight more!

My exact shirt is from Old Navy and no longer available, but they have updated what they are offering and have a great one available here. It’s more of a true army green than mine. Target also has one very similar to mine for just $20 (more my color).

The utility shirt is a great alternative to a jacket in warmer temps. I love how you’ve styled yours!

You can’t go wrong with a utility shirt! I’d definitely have to wear mine open for now with the baby bump, ha!

Good luck with your challenge, I didn’t buy much in December, and haven’t been wearing much different from lounge suits. I plan to get a few new pieces for Spring and hopefully being able to go out. Stay safe and well Hun. Jacqui x

I love button up shirts and I own a few however, I don’t wear it as often as I would my denim jacket. I need to try to style it more often like the way you did here because it’s just a very simple yet beautiful outfit.

I always feel so sloppy when I wear a button up shirt open like this but you wear it so well!

I usually reach for a kimono or long cardi but this is a nice way to shake things up a bit – a utility shirt is the perfect weight for the mild weather we have in winter here in FL too. Thanks for the idea and the link up, Amy Ann!
