Thoughts + Ruched Maternity Dress

June 8, 2020

Hi friends. Thanks to COVID and the loss of my small time of childcare, most of my blog content is prescheduled out of necessity. I have been more active on Instagram as it more in the moment. That being said, I wanted to take a moment to address the systemic racism happening in our country.

I don’t know that I realized my own privilege until college and even more as I aged, taught school, and then worked in academics in the field of social work. Even today, I’m less aware of it than I want to or should be. I have no idea what it’s like to be scared for no reason other than the color of my skin. I’m sickened over the events of this week and the racism we see in our world. Black lives matter. Russ and I are having conversations in our home both together and with Ivy Jean about all of this. I have a lot still to learn and need to take a more active approach to it, but I want to be and do better for my black brothers and sisters. I want our world to be better, and I know my God does too. I’ve spent much of the last week trying to listen and learn. I have sought out practical ways to do better through both my blog, Instagram, and home life. I often don’t have the right words and mess things up, but if you follow along here, I hope you know I care deeply about all of this.

Ruched Dress Obsessed

This pink ruched maternity dress has been making me feel like my bump isn’t quite so huge lately, so basically I love it! 😉 I will be 30 weeks tomorrow, and I can seriously hardly believe it. Ivy Jean came at 34 weeks (birth story is here). Even though we don’t know what will happen with this sweet baby girl, we are feeling like we need to be ready!

In general, I have been loving fitted dresses with some type of layer over them more than I ever thought possible during this pregnancy. I actually wore this exact dress for our first venture out to a patio where you order food online and sit. It was so nice!! Hardly any interaction yet we felt like we were eating out.

Back to the dress, you can see more on my post about how to style a ruched dress and my favorite black ruched dress (both of those are non-maternity). My last post was also about all the different ways I have styled my favorite $18 non-maternity Amazon fitted dress.

This pink ruched maternity dress is so much fun and very flattering! I love the slightly longer length and how easy it is to pair with so many things.
If you are in the market for a ruched maternity dress, look no further! This one comes in 7 colors and is super easy to wear.

Outfit Details

This particular ruched maternity dress is from PinkBlush and comes in a TON of colors. I’m wearing a small and actually wish I had the medium. I would recommend sizing up. I love that it is a longer length too. My bump is big enough now that it is starting to take up room and make dresses shorter. Unfortunately my pink is sold out right now and others are pretty limited in stock. However, they do restocks and you can add your email for a particular option.

My tie dye kimono may look familiar if you saw this post where I styled it with jeans. It’s an Amazon find, and I love how it adds such fun color and coverage to any look.

I loved styling this pink ruched dress with my bright tie dye kimono. The perfect summer outfit combination!
