I have been living in easy and flattering ruched dresses lately with the baby. They are extra wonderful for pregnancy, but also great for regular non-maternity wear. Today I figured I would round up some ideas about how to style a ruched dress.
Bodycon Dress Details
Whatever you call them, ruched, bodycon, or fitted, this exact dress was last seen in black here. It’s currently on sale for just $39, and I have had the same long sleeve version in grey for 4 years. I wore it all through my pregnancy with Ivy Jean and after. It’s just that good!! I am wearing a size medium here so that it has stretch for the pregnancy, but a small would work regularly. It really depends on how to want it to fit.
How to Wear a Ruched Dress
Layer with Kimono
For spring and summer warmer weather, I love to layer a ruched dress with a breezy kimono. This white one is just $25 from Amazon.
Pair with a Jean Jacket, Leather, or Utility Jacket
I love adding any cute jacket to a bodycon type dress. When something is really fitted, sometimes it just helps to have that extra layer. You can add a jean jacket around your waist, on, or another favorite jacket. Really anything works!
Dress it up with Heels
You guys know I love a good dress, and I love the excuse to dress up. Recently I shared this leopard dress above and below styled two ways. You can wear sneakers or dress it up with heels. Previously I have shared a gorgeous red dress with side ruching and a pink dress with front ruching both made to be on the dressier end.
Try a Layer + Boots in Winter
Below is the same dress I mentioned. It is the green and black but in long sleeve. I love adding a winter layer like a poncho or cardigan and boots during the cooler months.
