I am sharing a new outfit today, this adorable black romper from Z Supply, which I have been wearing a lot. It lead me to thinking about how my wardrobe has changed some since I started staying home, especially in the summer heat when comfort outside is essential. I’ve gotten a few questions about how to look comfortable AND cute – key for me. Today I thought I would roundup the best cute and comfy summer mom outfits.
Rompers & Jumpsuits
Together rompers (shorts) and jumpsuits (pants) make the easiest and most comfortable summer mom outfits. Why? Well, for starters they are all one piece so you don’t have to think about anything. It is what I love about a dress, but rompers and jumpsuits have the functionality of shorts. When chasing a kiddo that’s pretty important. They are also super comfy when you get one that is a cotton/jersey material. Hello pjs in public!
This black one from Z Supply might be the softest thing I own (see more rompers/jumpsuits here). I shared on my post Friday about the t-shirt from them that their material is just truly above par. So well made and soft. I’ve posted it a ton, but my long olive jumpsuit from Amazon (pictured below) is my best selling item and for a reason. So comfy, flattering, and easy to wear!
Overalls
I got on a serious overall kick this spring because I realized how cute they made me feel and how easy they were to wear with Ivy Jean. I bought a denim shorts pair (budget) as soon as the weather started to warm up, but my obsession really hit a new level when I discovered SOFT overalls also from Z Supply. In either form, I love how they aren’t super fitted which makes they practical and comfy but also have sorts. You can see my full post about how to style overalls here. Shop my blue striped, white striped, and leopard soft overalls. They also come in chambray and black.
Shorts & T-Shirts/Tanks
I’ve been living in my denim shorts this summer paired with all kinds of cute t-shirts or cotton tank. I bought a black pair from Old Navy I love. You’ve heard me rave about my favorite splurge pair of denim shorts before by Agolde. I bought mine from Shopbop though my exact one is almost sold out, so I am linking it at Revolve too. They are honestly a little too short for my comfort when bending a ton even at a 4 in inseam, but I swear they are so flattering! I am on the hunt for a longer, more affordable pair – I’ll keep you posted. My paperbag waist denim shorts have also been a fun pair to have when I want to look slightly dressier but still in shorts, and I LOVE my leopard pull on shorts. They are soooo comfy. It feels like I am wearing gym shorts.
PRO TIP: I also really love adding a kimono over my t-shirt because it dresses it up without actually dressing it up plus adds coverage.
Outfit Repeater
I hope you are noticing as I share these looks all in one post that I repeat and rewear my clothes all the time. My pink tank top is under my overalls and with my kimono. I also recently shared it with my leopard skirt here. The striped t-shirt is under my overalls and with my denim shorts. My black shorts are shown two ways, my denim three, and my paperbag three which means I have worn them all in real life way more than that as I cannot get a photo every time. My overalls are shown twice, and I have another IG post coming up soon with them another time. These pieces are all such keys in my summer mom uniform, and I really wear them all the time!
