I recently shared a post about how to style a dress for now and later here and discussed the right type of dress to shop for that makes this easy. This gorgeous Lost + Wonder dress is one I recently got. I wore it on our beach trip when Russ and I got to sneak away for a date. It was so nice! The dress was perfect for our date, but it also has all the makings of the perfect dress to transition to the cooler months too! I wore my favorite Tory Burch sandals and a fun headband (shop a great selection of them here) with it while it was hot, but I thought I would also share some easy ideas on how to transition your summer dress to fall.
Dress Worn for Summer

How to Transition Your Summer Dress to Fall
- Add a jean jacket and swap your sandals for a more fall type shoe like a mule
- Pair a sweater over your dress to make it look like a skirt. You can put a belt underneath and tuck the sweater into it for a faux waist affect.
- Wear boots and some type of layer (a jacket, cardigan, sweater as mentioned above).
- Tie a button up over it like a chambray shirt or classic white shirt.
