To Tuck or Not to Tuck? + Link Up

November 1, 2017

To tuck or notΒ to tuck? That is the question. I am pretty obsessed with this hot pink tunic sweater. It comes in multiple colors, is the perfect length for jeans or leggings (remember I am 5’10”), and has a great mock turtleneck. In a totally uncharacteristic move, I picked the hot pick over one of the more neutral colors. I won’t lie, I am loving it. It goes with regular jeans and my black jeans or leggings equally well. I ordered my normal size, and I love the fit.

When I was planning this post and my outfits, I couldn’t decide whether it looked better tucked in the front or out. I took pictures both ways and wanted you all to weigh in. Which way do you think is more flattering? I think tucked creates more of a long leg line but also a bit of a front pouch if you know what I mean. Untucked doesn’t have the pouch but also has less shape. Thoughts?!

Reader QuestionΒ  – Holiday Content

I’d also love your feedback on anything you’d like to see holiday content wise. Like it or not, today is the first day of November (where did you go October?!) and it is time to start thinking about Christmas presents, Christmas cards, and more. Let’s be real, I am thinking about all I am going to eat on Thanksgiving first. Leave me a comment! I just created a holiday shop page that I’d love for you to check out. I rounded up some of my favorite pieces perfect for the holiday season and all your holiday parties.

This is such a cute outfit! I wish I could pull off that pink color, but I think it looks weird on me. I agree with you about the front tuck – I think I front tuck everything these days!

I like it both ways, but on you I like it tucked in better. As for the holidays, I don’t need gift guides or sale alerts but I love family photo ideas and holiday outfits. I’d also love to see more practical Thanksgiving outfits. So many I saw on other blogger posts last year were so impractical for me. When I saw the pictures my first thought was “Well she’s not spending any time in the kitchen” I’m the cook in the family, and I get hot and messy in the kitchen. Even if I change to eat, then I’d have to change back again to do dishes. I don’t know. As the mom/grandma in the family, I find Thanksgiving outfits frustrating. I’m not gonna run upstairs and change clothes multiple times.

This is such a good point. Maybe comfy slacks with a tee and a nice cardigan to throw on right before dinner?? Good food for thought!

Thanks! Something with short sleeves would work best in the kitchen.

I always struggle with that too! I think this looks amazing both ways and I love that color on you. I was debating on getting this top in the mink color and you’ve definitely convinced me I need it! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

Love this gorgeous look on you, Amy Ann! The pink tunic is so pretty! Definitely looks great both ways, though I struggle with this question too, because I’m so high-waisted that when I tuck I sometimes feel like it throws off my proportions. The key for me when I do tuck is to make sure my waist-band is sufficiently covered by the fabric from the top/shirt. Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much πŸ™‚

I never know when to tuck or not tuck either! In this example, I loved when you tucked! (Although untucking looks great too!) I would love to know how to style family photo outfits!

I think it’s one of those times that both ways is great. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to decide??

I’m a huge fan of the front tuck and really miss doing it since being pregnant! I think this tunic sweater definitely works either way, though. The bright pink color is so flattering with your skin tone!

I must say that I don’t like those kind of too shopping and spending orientated posts but I do like to check once in a while a good shopping guide, esp. for the Christmas presents.
