Feminine and Edgy + Life Update

October 9, 2017

Sharing this gorgeous feminine and edgy outfit combination plus a little life update today. It’s been quite the week you all. Ivy Jean had been sick for days with a fever she just couldn’t shake. Two doctors visits, even more phone calls, and multiple blood tests later, we landed in the hospital on Friday. If you’ve been following along on Instagram (@straightastyle), you know we found out she has pneumonia.

We stayed overnight and were discharged Saturday. We are so thankful for all the wonderful care we go while there and are also thankful to be back home with our girl who is hopefully on the road to recovery. I cannot thank you all enough for reaching out, praying, and generally being the awesome and supportive group of women you are. It is times like these I am reminded why I love blogging so much.

If I am being honest with you all, the hospital visit and the whole illness really has been pretty scary. Her fever has been very high, and I have felt ill-equipped to take care of her and helpless at times. It’s heartbreaking to see your baby stuck over and over and just generally in pain. We have such a wonderful group of friends, church family, and family. I’m so thankful for their prayers and support. It’s funny how life just kind of stops when things like this happen. If you read my infertility or birthΒ story posts (linked on my about page), Ivy Jean has a funny way of reminding this control freak just how little control I actually have and sending me running back to Jesus.

The dress and boots are soo pretty! I LOVE the combo you created with something super feminine and edgy! πŸ™‚ I’ve been wanting the boots the most, they kinda remind me of the Chloe ones.

Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear Ivy Jean hasn’t been feeling well. I can imagine how scary seeing her with a fever and in pain can be. I’m glad she was discharged, I know she’ll be better soon; I’ll keep her in my prayers. You had me laughing at the end of that last sentence because I share the same sentiments. I’m such a control freak and since having Aviah, it’s been such a character adjustment for me and for the better. Thanks for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a great week ahead!

PS: I adore that dress paired with the leather, so good!

    XO,
