How cute is this bow cardigan?! I mean, come on. It’s the one I shared during the Shopbop sale last week and ordered myself. We took these pictures on Friday (fighting the wind the whole time), and I planned to wear this exact outfit on Saturday. After seeing the photos, I ended up wearing different jeans. I just decided I wanted a more boyfriend style to balance out the bows on top a little more. I really have learned a lot from seeing myself in clothes. I recommend taking even just a quick mirror selfie to help yourself decide on clothing.
I turned 31 on Saturday, and I couldn’t help but reflect on the past year. This time last year Russ and I were celebrating my 30th at a fancy dinner with friends while facing IVF after struggling with infertility for over two years. On Saturday we had Little Caesar’s pizza on our back deck at 5:30 while I held my 3 month old daughter. I could have wept with gratitude over the story the Lord has written. There were days that I asked him if he even saw me or cared about the desires of my heart. I had to surrender to him over and over again. It was both the ugliest and most beautiful thing, and I am the better for it. Ivy Jean, you are what makes this year special. Last year we didn’t know if we’d get to have children, and this year I am your mama.

What a fabulously, unique sweater, Amy!!
And I totally agree about getting a photo of your outfit—it looks so different at times than in the mirror. But I do like this outfit with these jeans—I would never look at these photos and think they are bad!!
