How to Wear All Black

I love an all black look. Any time I want to add some edge or when I don’t know what to wear, I opt for all black. Below I am sharing my two easy tips for making it work. I wore this look to the doctor and for a couple errands the other day. My cold shoulder ruffle top (only $13!!) is perfect for casual days with fun coated denim (under $100) and statement yet comfy velvet sneakers (only $70).

How to wear all black:

  1. Mix Textures – whether chunky knits, silk, denim, leather, or coated denim like I opted for, mixing textures visually breaks up the look even though it is monochrome.
  2. Add a colored accessory – By pairing a colored accessory with an all black look, it keeps it from feeling too dark. Think a suede moto jacket, a neutral scarf, a colored bag, or a fun shoe like I selected. Your color doesn’t have to be bright either. I love adding another neutral like a grey or tan.
