Designer Brands for Less with Uptown Cheapskate + 20 Week Bumpdate

August 10, 2016

Today I am sharing how to get designer brands for less with Uptown Cheapskate. If you haven’t heard of them before, Uptown Cheapskate is a modern and stylish resale shop with branches all over the US. One opened in Tulsa this past fall, and I was lucky enough to work with them at that time (see posts here and here). Essentially you bring in your clothes and get cash on the spot! Unlike other stores, they pay you upfront instead of when your clothes sell. The last time I worked with them, I put together two outfits for $75 with brands like Gap, Loft, and Asos. This time I walked out of the store with my very first item of Tory Burch clothing for only $40. This dress was calling my name, and at the price, it was a no-brainier. Tory Burch dresses usually sell new for anywhere from $300 and up.

If you are in the Tulsa area or have an Uptown Cheapskate near you, I definitely recommend checking it out to get designer brands for less. Are you a resale shopper? I personally love them! They allow me to recycle and keep my blogger closet from getting too full, all while making a little cash. And who doesn’t want a little cash?

20 Week Bumpdate

How Far Along: 20 weeks. Holy cow, how did that happen?! It’s hard to believe I am already halfway! If feels like just yesterday I was writing my first trimester update.

Gender: Russ and I do not plan to find out the baby’s gender. We just had our big scan and held strong!

Name: Because we aren’t finding out the gender, we are going to keep these to ourselves. We have several we like with a strong boy and girl contender. It feels like such a monumental decision!

How I am feeling emotionally: All the emotions, all the time. Grin. Excited, scared, like I have so much to do, worried about my appearance, etc. My mind feels like it is constantly jumping from one thing to another. Who are we going to use as our pediatrician? Should I have read that by now? I should probably sign up for a class. Can we do this? Holy cow, I’m going to be a mom! I get to watch Russ be a dad! You get the idea.

How I’m feeling physically: I have been incredibly fortunate to have a good pregnancy. Overall I have experienced minimal side effects compared to many. I will say, pregnancy is a strange and wonderful thing. It’s crazy how much it affects your body in every way. I’ve always had migraines and am usually on a preventative and as-needed medicine, so being off them has been the hardest. I have pretty regular headaches. I’ve also started having some calf and ankle swelling if I’m on my feet too much or wear heels for too long. Womp, womp! You know I love my heels.

Physical changes: I mentioned last time and in my pregnancy fitness post that watching my body change has been harder than I expected. I think it’s important for women to be able to say things like that without it meaning they are a bad mom. We can acknowledge the hard without undermining the good, and I think it helps us stay real with one another.  I’ve gained more weight than I thought I would have by this time, and I have to remind myself what a precious miracle it is to carry this child. My body changing is all part of that, and I wouldn’t do anything different. Okay, maybe a few less cheeseburgers…

Nursery: We are making progress on the nursery! We have the crib, dresser, rug, and some accents. It has been soooo much fun! I’ve shared a few things on snapchat (straightastyle) if you want to follow along. I plan to do a full reveal on the blog at some point. I think I may schedule it and then share it after the baby arrives while I give my body some time to recover and give us and I some time to figure out what in the heck we are doing.

Highlight: I can feel the baby moving now! The first time it happened I thought, “Was that what I think it was?!” It took me a couple days of it reoccurring to feel confident to say it. Russ even got to feel it this week. It’s the neatest thing ever! This sweet little reminder that I am carrying a precious life. The other recent highlight was definitely our ultrasound. Love seeing that little babe and hearing all is well.

Thanks for keeping up with me during this time!

Loved reading this pregnancy update. That dress is gorgeous and such a steal. Totally your style too and great to transition into Fall, especially how it is styled with camel. I can barely tell you are pregnant so it is hard for me to tell you have gained a lot of weight.

Also, what medicine are you taking for your migraines? Mine have been getting worse. =(

Love this dress! That is so cool to not know the gender–you’re braver than I am, hehe.
