The Benefits of Blogging

March 15, 2016

When I started my little personal blog back in 2010, I never dreamed I would one day call myself a fashion blogger. The fact that Straight A Style exists today is such a fun blessing. My personal blog slowly evolved into what you see today reflecting my love for fashion. SAS has been around for almost a year now! I count myself lucky everyday to get to express my creative side in this way. One of the most unexpected benefits of blogging has been the other women I have gotten to know. I love seeing women do their thing and cheering each other on at the same time. I truly feel like I have friends all across the country. So when Ally of Allyson in Wonderland, an Oklahoma City blogger, was passing through Tulsa, I was thrilled to meet her for a fun coffee date. She is beautiful inside and out, and it was so fun to talk blogging and life. Her husband was kind enough to snap some fun pictures. We are bloggers after all…

It’s been such a fun blogging month for me! Emily Gemma of The Sweetest Thing hosted an event at Suite One Boutique in Tulsa (where my top is from!), and it was amazing to meet her. She is as nice in person as you would imagine. Whitney and Lindsay of The Double Take Girls, Kathryn of Around Town Babe, Monica of The Styled Wife, Britney of GlowByB (YouTube), and Cassi of The Cassi Diaries (Instagram) also attended the event. It was so fun to hang out with other Oklahoma bloggers! Seriously, I feel so fortunate for all the friendships I have through blogging.

I know someone once said you make so many new friends blogging but you actually never physically meet them…i your case it’s awesome that you did and connecting with one another and bouncing ideas must be so great! I do have a couple of blogger friends that we are from the asme city and occasionally we get together and do shoots. It’s very fun. I’d love to be able to meet others from other cities too. Would love if you can link up any of your awesome fashion posts to http://the-wardrobe-stylist.com/2016/03/28/cleavage-enhancement-tips/

Alright your coordinated camel coats could not be more fabulous together!! I really appreciate this post because without blogging, I wouldn’t have met so many of my [now] closest friends. It’s amazing the kindred spirits and similar souls we find on this journey!

This is really inspiring. I’e been blogging for awhile now but I get really nervous when my friends start to notice my blog! I totally shy away and close down the blog. I’m pretty excited to be part of this blogging community. Love this post and hope you will check out our blog too!

Really enjoyed reading this. It really points out one of the highlights about blogging- that chance to meet with likeminded people and chat about what inspires you…I have great friends but I tend not to talk about my blog with them, as they dont have one and I dont want to be to ‘MeMEMeeee!’ I was in Lagos recently and met up with a blogging friend and it was so nice to chat about my blog…anyhoo, glad you’ve had so many fun blogging events and wishing you more! I have said it all the time, the best thing (for me) about blogging is meeting wonderful women across the world and luckily I have met a few of them in person, too. Looks like you had a great month meeting many other great Oklahoma bloggers. You both look super chic in your jeans and classic camel coats. I Loved this post, Amy Ann.

Oh, how fun! I agree, it blows my mind how many awesome people I’ve met both in person and online through blogging. Blogging has so many wonderful perks, but I think the friendships and community are the best ones! You both look great–these are excellent shots!
