The Power of Fashion

February 8, 2016

You know those outfits that make you excited to go somewhere just because you want to leave the house in them? This is one of those for me. The power of fashion is that it can help motivate, put a smile on your face, and give you confidence when you need it. I love that about it. I’ve been resisting the urge to wear this blouse (only $19!) with pretty much everything I own: flare jeans, under jumpers, with other skirts. You name it. The bell sleeves just get me. Also, I should mention that OK weather has been nuts lately. We had a couple days with highs in the mid to upper 60s, so you better believe I broke out my slit front skirt while I had the chance. I mean, how could I not?

Today starts Russ and my IVF journey (see my infertility post here). I go in for uterine mapping, whatever that is. If I am blissfully unaware at least I can’t freak out about it in advance, right? I digress…I need a power outfit for sure. Maybe two. A sweet friend gave me a necklace engraved with the word “hope”, and it brought me to tears. It was so representative of this journey and the way we have been loved through every step. On the good days, I have so much hope in the One who holds our future. You better believe I have my necklace on today.

What a beautiful sweet gift your friend gave you…its a perfect reminder to never lose hope. When I start to feel a bit discourage I say this quote to myself “I experience and welcome my deepest connection to the miracle of creation”. I will be thinking about you guys today, I hope things go smoothly. You guys will be in my prayers ❤️

Oh wow, thank you so much! I am so sorry to hear you have had to deal with it too, but I appreciate you being willing to share with me. It’s all very new to me. Is your infertility blog separate? I haven’t seen it on your blog.

      • Reply Liliana Ayala February 9, 2016 at 7:38 pm

Of course, no problem at all. It’s a very overwhelming time, so I know what you must be feeling. Yes, my infertility blog is separate, it’s still pretty new, but I try to post at least once a week. I posted today and plan on getting an IVF Survival Kit post next week. It’s linked at the top of my blog. But it’s ttcbabyg.blogspot.com

Hope your appointment went well! xo

First, you look beautiful as always, Amy Ann! You rock the ’70s style like no other and this outfit is no exception to the rest! I love the blouse, which looks fantastic paired with that skirt, great styling! You and Russ will have a beautiful baby and everything will go smoothly, I will keep you both in my prayers for everything to go the way it should and for the nervousness and fear to not even stir up in either of you. You both WILL BE wonderful parents! I hope you have an amazing day and week ahead, beautiful, sending a huge hug your way!

    XO,
