Statement Accessories for Winter

November 4, 2015

It’s amazing what good accessories can do to take an outfit from basic to special. A striped top and jeans is hardly revolutionary. Distressed jeans, stripes, a plaid blanket scarf, a hat, a fun bag, and fringe booties – now that makes a statement. However it doesn’t mean you change up your wardrobe. For the most part, everything in my closet is neutral and easily mixable. I just buy in-style and often inexpensive accessories to change things up and feel more trendy. As far as I am concerned, the statement accessories for winter are blanket scarves, hats, and fun boots. I usually buy my hats at Forever21, and I’m currently obsessed with blanket scarves! If you saw my Instagram, you know Purple Peridot has a wonderful selection. I shared one on Monday, and today I’m wearing a second. I can’t promise I won’t be wearing them all day everyday! You can get 10% off with the code STRAIGHTASTYLE.

I wore this (minus the heels) for a fun day with friends this weekend. The girls left the boys and kids at home for great coffee date before heading to our church’s Halloween Hay Day and making dinner. Having heart to hearts and time with friends who really know you is so special. P.S.- For any Tulsa readers, we took these photos at Gilcrease. It’s a great spot for Christmas card pictures because it’s free and beautiful! Thanks to Photography by Jami Leavitt for the tip.

Accessories can really add to any outfit and the best part is how versatile they can be. Personally I adore blanket scarfs. They’re just everything.
