Fall Uniform

November 11, 2015

My fall uniform consists of some type of boots, jeans, and sweater or top (often of the plaid variety). I’m loving this split back plaid shirt by WAYF. It’s super soft and a great color. The open back sets it apart from other plaid tops. Full disclosure, I pinned the top a little to keep it from showing my bra. If you’re a regular reader, you know I shared a post recently about OTK boots. While I loved my gifted boots from Choies quality and look wise, they just were not tall enough for my almost 5’10” self. I regularly clean out my closet and take things to the resale shop. Unfortunately, those were one of the things I took in. I found this faux suede pair at Forever21 for less than $45! They also come in grey and black. I was so excited because they fit my foot and leg so well, and they stay up.

Blogging has taught me so much. Seeing yourself in outfits helps teach you what works and what doesn’t work for your body. I totally recommend outfit selfies for that very reason. After seeing this set of photos, I realized this will not go down as one of my favorites. It is not because I dislike any of the pieces, but the combo of the tall boots and high waisted jeans/tucked in shirt somehow is not too flattering. That’s all on me, and in the future, I will leave my shirt untucked or wear a longer top. Just wanted to share my OTK boot styling tip and thoughts!

I still think you look amazing, but I see what you mean about untucking the shirt. And, taking pictures definitely helps figure out what works for your body!

That fringe jacket is fabulous and the split back plaid look awesome underneath! My tall mirror is my best friend when getting ready in the morning because sometimes the outfits that I put together definitely don’t translate as well as they did in my head. Photos always help, too!

That plaid shirt is lovely, even if you did have to pin it! Glad you found a bargain pair of boots that you like more than your other pair too! It’s good you can clean out your wardrobe and make room for new things ๐Ÿ™‚

Taking photos helps me with what does/doesn’t look good too, definitely! I think I’ve learned a lot from taking pics, a picture can show you things the mirror doesn’t!

It’s amazing how in our minds an outfit can look but then in reality we feel something is off. Oh, I’ve been there and done that, so many times! I agree with you about untucking the shirt but I still think overall it’s a great outfit.
