My fall uniform consists of some type of boots, jeans, and sweater or top (often of the plaid variety). I’m loving this split back plaid shirt by WAYF. It’s super soft and a great color. The open back sets it apart from other plaid tops. Full disclosure, I pinned the top a little to keep it from showing my bra. If you’re a regular reader, you know I shared a post recently about OTK boots. While I loved my gifted boots from Choies quality and look wise, they just were not tall enough for my almost 5’10” self. I regularly clean out my closet and take things to the resale shop. Unfortunately, those were one of the things I took in. I found this faux suede pair at Forever21 for less than $45! They also come in grey and black. I was so excited because they fit my foot and leg so well, and they stay up.
Blogging has taught me so much. Seeing yourself in outfits helps teach you what works and what doesn’t work for your body. I totally recommend outfit selfies for that very reason. After seeing this set of photos, I realized this will not go down as one of my favorites. It is not because I dislike any of the pieces, but the combo of the tall boots and high waisted jeans/tucked in shirt somehow is not too flattering. That’s all on me, and in the future, I will leave my shirt untucked or wear a longer top. Just wanted to share my OTK boot styling tip and thoughts!

I don’t always share outfits that I love 100% and I think that just makes us real that not outfits are a win. With that said, I think this outfit looks fine and those boots look amazing on you!
Thank you for joining TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you next week.

It’s always good to look at yourself in photos and selfies and determine what works for you (or not). 🙂
Having said that, boots and jeans.. always one of my faves!! 🙂

I do think the shirt untucked works better but overall it is still a chic casual look. The plaid shirt, boots and jacket are perfectly on trend, now. I think I need those gorgeous OTK boots from F21, too. =)
Love how you styled this fringe jacket with the plaid! I can’t believe the deal of those boots from Forever 21. When I went there last week I couldn’t find any over the knee boots.. probably have to look online! I love how these are so versatile and will go with so much, you look great:-)

Ha, I totally understand about seeing yourself in photos then realizing that something doesn’t work! Although I would probably wear this with the shirt untucked, I still think you look great! I love that your plaid has the slit back, and that jacket is amazing!

Love the split back flannel! I think you look great, but I totally understand your point about seeing outfits in photos. It really helps to see what does and doesn’t work, and how an outfit really looks.
That jacket is TOO cool– amazing!

You look amazing, love that shirt and those OTK boots are perfect.
That is a super cute top! The open back is really unique – and I usually pin things or don’t wear a bra if it’s going to show, too…hate when my bra shows! Those boots are really cute! A bit surprising that they’re from Forever21, but they’ve really been upping their game lately! I was at one of their stores the other day and there was some really cute stylish stuff!
And I agree, one of the greatest things about blogging is looking at how your style has progressed and evolved over the years as well as really knowing what works and what doesn’t :). Really cute outfit, Amy!!
It’s like in Clueless when Cher says she never trusts mirrors and uses polaroids to figure out her outfit! Haha, I totally agree about taking outfit photos changing the way you dress and such. That said, I will say that some outfits just don’t photograph as well as they look in person. But still, I’ve learned to steer clear from some of those for the blog. You look amazing! XO
