Three Ways to Wear OTK Boots

October 14, 2015

I loved my OTK boots last year, and the trend remains strong this season. I have a heeled pair, so when I got the opportunityย to try a flat pair from Choies for less than $80, I jumped at the chance. I knew I would wear them even more than a heel. My previous pair is loose around the knee, and I liked that these are the more stretchy suede that fits well. I usually wear an 8.5 or 9, and I ordered the 10. They are a perfect fit length wise. Unfortunately at 5’10” they are not quite as over the knee as I would like. Insert sad face. Since I was unsure about their wearability last year when I bought my first pair, I thought I would share three ways to wear OTK boots with you today. They are far more versatile than you might think! Today I paired them with my black jeans, new sleeveless turtleneck sweater,ย and an old favorite buffalo plaid shirt. I like my sweater vest so much, I wanted another similar piece in black. I love the layering potential. Over or under or alone, this top will be a great piece for the season at only $25.

I am headed to Denver for a work trip tomorrow, and I am so excited. I’ve never been to Denver. Plus, I get to meet Leah from Eat Pray Wear Love and Paige and Hailey from The Middle Closet. I love how this blogging community has become real friends of mine, and it is so fun to meet them in real life!

When it comes to wearing OTK boots with a dress or skirt, I wanted to highlight both hemlines. Midi or mini, OTK boots pair well with both lengths. I just like to make sure my midi hem covers the top of my boots.

Great photos, you have inspired me to look at black boots as an option (I usually stick with brown). Also, what is with Forever 21 having cute basics lately?!? I guess I have to start going back into that store! xx http://www.celebratingthislife.ca

I’m totally itching to get a pair for fall now! I love how you showed some different styles to pair them with. I honestly hate boot shopping hahaha I much rather shop for heels. But I know I need some boots for fall so I’ll have to just suck it up lol. Have a good time on your work trip – Safe travels! So cool that you are meeting up with these lovely ladies:-)

I wear flat boots often, and I have been looking for something over the knee. However, I have short legs so I have been kind of picky about how they look on me!

I’ve been thinking about getting these Choies boots but wasn’t sure about fit so thank you for trying them out! I have really thin calves (about 13in circ) Do you think they work for small calves? I’d probably wear the size 10 too. Is that top a drawstring or are the ties just for show? Sorry for so many questions!

I just measured my calf for you. I mean, what are blogger friends for if not help with shopping decisions?! Mine are right about 13 inches too, so I think you would be fine. The ties are real. Since they were a little shorter on me than I hoped, I just pulled them up as high as they would go and tied them tight. ???

I have been thinking about getting a sleeveless sweater, but then I thought is it practical in cold weather. Now that I’ve seen how you’ve layered yours, I am convinced that it is! Thanks for the inspiration.
