Blogger Nation: Sole Society

October 12, 2015

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. We hosted our third annual meat fest. A couple years ago several of our guys friends came over, took over my kitchen, and smoked every kind of meat imaginable before the rest of our friends joined for dinner. It quickly became a fall tradition. They take our TVs (yes plural) outside. Football is watched, cornhole is played, too much food is eaten, and we have a generally great time. I love sitting back and letting the men do the cooking.

I wore this easy outfit for the day (see my Instagram snap here). I made the comment to my friends that I don’t do casual very well. I enjoy dressing up, and I don’t feel like I have the casual chic thing down that so many of you do. I always feel like a bit of a poser. When I shared this snap on Instagram and my fall post, people seemed to like it. It made me think I need to work on and share more casual looks. I’d love to hear what you all would like to see more of on the blog. Anyways, this outfit is a recreation of one I shared previously. Adding a great pair of boots and a leather jacket, made it the perfect fall weekend look. These pieces are going to be heavy in my rotation. How fun is this blue moto jacket from Santa Fe Apparel? It’s a great quality faux leather and the blue will go with so much. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I have also been on a major boot kick. I’m obsessed with this Sole Society pair. They really are a great destination for fall boots. Just see last week’s post for more evidence. Be sure to check out the other Blogger Nation girl’s selections.

Oh my I love love smoked meat! My boyfriends dad hosts a BBQ every summer and they smoke some of the best roasts. I really love the colour of this leather jacket and even more that you paired it with this plaid top. Looking gorgeous, as always!

OK, that meat feast sounds amazing. I love meats so much so I would have so much fun. It is super cool that you guys made it a tradition. I totally think you pull casual so well. Unlike you I have been doing a lot more casual looks (like 70% of my outfits) since I have been a stay-at-home mom. It is time for me to do more fancy/dressier outfits at the blog and that week I have a few of those scheduled. Yes, I have a bootie obsession too. I have many pairs which I left behind in Albania, which means I have to buy more here lol. I would love your Sole Society ones in Olive. And that jacket is to die for!

Love the idea of a meat fest tradition! As for casual looks, I’d definitely like to see more as I think it’s so hard to get right

That sounds like a fun annual event!

You look great in this outfit but understand what you’re saying about casual outfits. I feel like I’m in the same boat. But really, how can you go wrong with that awesome leather jacket!

You look amazing in this outfit, and a giant YES from me for sharing more casual looks. But that’s my personal bias talking since I don’t have a lot of need for “dressed up” looks, so really I think you should share what YOU love and what makes you happy to wear.
