Styling a Midi Skirt

September 4, 2015

How fun is this plaid belted midi skirt from Chicwish?! When it arrived, I wasn’t sure what I would pair it with. As I was putting it away, my off the shoulder chambray ruffle dress caught my eye, and I decided to tuck it into my skirt!  You saw me wear it as a dress here. That is the great part about styling a midi skirt – anything can become a top! I’ve also worn it to work with a red and white striped tee. I find midi skirts really versatile. You can wear them to work with more polished tops and shoes or style them for a date night with a crop top and heels. Just FYI – my platforms which you have seen here, here, and here are on major sale!

Also, I am going to fashion week! It is super last minute, but I am so excited. My amazing mother is coming with me, and we are making a girl’s trip out of it. I feel so fortunate to be able to go. When I started this blogging journey, I never dreamed this would be a reality for me. God has been so good to me. I mean that in the truest sense of the words. In the middle of a hard season in life, blogging has been so much fun. So much unexpected fun. All that to say, I have absolutely no idea what goes on at fashion week. I’m actually kind of an introvert. Sooo if you are going, let me know! I’ll be attending the LuLu*s party and the rewardStyle party. I’d love to see some friendly faces. Have a great long weekend everyone!

Tucking a dress into a midi skirt, I never thought of that but it’s brilliant! You mastered the technique. I love the pattern on your skirt too!

Love the layering of the chambray dress with this stunning shirt! I’ve been doing that quite a bit lately and it really is a great way to get some added wear out of our dresses!

That is a lovely skirt, and it looks great with your dress worn as a top 🙂 I like wearing dresses as tops too, it’s a great way to get a little more wear out of things in my wardrobe 🙂

Have a wonderful girl’s weekend at fashion week!
