Lace Up Bootie: An Obsessive Search

July 16, 2015

Let me tell you a shoe saga. But first a confession: sometimes when I decide I want something I get obsessive about it, like cannot stop until I have just the right thing obsessive. I saw these Miista lace up booties on an Instagram account I follow and knew they looked like the perfect shoe. A lace up bootie is wearable now, adds the perfect edge to any outfit, AND transitions perfectly to fall.ย ย So I hunted for these shoes online and found them on sale. When they arrived in my size (I usually wear an 8.5 or 9, so I ordered a EU 39 which is equivalent to a 9) my toes literally hung off the end. I was crushed. I sent them back and decided to keep looking. Then I found this pair at Aldo. Well of course my size is sold out. Finally, I found this Jeffrey Campbell Cors pair. It was love. They were a total splurge, but I ordered them anyway. The leather color is what sold me. It goes with basically anything. In my search, I found multiple pairs I liked, so I thought I would share the fruit of my labor in case anyone was as crazy as me. I’ve linked them all below including multiple places to buy the Jeffrey Campbell pair because they all seem to have different sizes.

I can totally relate. I can get obsessive as well when I want something. I get tunnel vision. And the sad thing is that sometimes when I finally get whatever “it” is, I’m like, “Hmm, maybe it’s not so great after all.” But in this case, I think you splurged on the right pair of shoes. They’re gorgeous! Can’t wait to see you style them.

Ooh I like those, and I agree that they’re really versatile! I’m the same way also… Once I picture something I scout the internet like a crazy person to find that thing I want! It usually happens with shoes because I’m so picky about them!

I just saw some today at French Connection that I would love for fall, but, alas, they’re also pricey:

I agree that they will be perfect now and in fall. And coming spring should you still like them ๐Ÿ˜‰ The JC booties look great, but I also like the last couple in your slide show, those with the cut-outs.

I’m not much of a researcher in that regard, but I do know that I’ll hit up a certain shoe shop when I’m back in Germany in August haha. Have a great day!

I also get super obsessive about certain items that I absolutely must have. For me right now that’s the perfect pair of casual sneakers. Those Jeffrey Campbell’s are amazing and I can’t wait to see them on you (the suede is so amazing)! Jeffrey Campbell just always has the best quality and unique shoes.

Oh my! Those are so cool! I’ve never thought about owning cut out boots but they would be so fun for the spring, summer and fall!

I’ve been looking for cognac (or similar) cut out booties for months, but have a hard time finding ones that don’t trigger my texture issue (i.e. Cors). Those Madden Girl Vitals are perfect – minus the fact that they don’t come in my size. But, now you’ve re-inspired MY obsession, so congratulations. Or thank you. ๐Ÿ˜‰
