First, I wanted to say thanks for your kind responses to my post on Wednesday. It always feels a little vulnerableΒ to share something other than fashion around here. My takeaway is that we all struggle some with social media and comparison. We are all comparing to each other and all feeling like we don’t measure up when we do. I say let’s do our best to build each other up. I want to be a woman known for loving other women and creating an atmosphere where no one leaves feeling less than. I hope you feel that way about my blog. It’s why I started it in the first place. I found other fashion blogs so inspiring and hoped to do even a sliver of the same.
My gingham kick continues (remember this dress?) with these pants I got on major sale at LOFT – my go-to store. They are currently half off the sale price. Score! I paired them with this pretty eyelet cutout top from Chicwish. How great are these sleeves? I don’t usually wear color, but I loved this periwinkle and pretty detailing. I’ve now worn these floral heels approximately 62 times (here and here on the blog). They are so versatile and such a steal (only $30!). Funny story, when I wore them on this day a little girl walked past me a really loudly said, “Mom, that lady is wearing really tall shoes.” Made my day. Totally unrelated – doesn’t my hair look soΒ blonde in these pictures? I recently got it done (this isn’t the first set of photos), and I really like it. I’m totally a natural brunette. #faker

It’s always good to build others up and make them feel good about what they’re doing, but sometimes others may not like what you post,or agree with you but at the end of they day we just have to believe in ourselves and accept who we are, as we’re all different in many ways.

Love your eyelet top, it’s so pretty and I’m obsessed with the sleeves. I’d never think to pair it with the gingham pants, but I’m loving the look! I need to try more pattern mixing. Loving your blonde hair too!!

This is pattern mixing I really like. Very complimentary, nothing garish. Alot of pattern mixing just becomes visual noise to me – if that makes sense. But her the textures are both soft and defined, sharp without being jagged – eyelet pattern, then the metallic in the jewellery and the shape of the gingham.

I was actually eyeing those pants at the store… LOL. Love the look! I am contemplating coloring my hair as well but it’s so tough deciding on a color with my skin tone!
N’aw, the little girl is such a sweetheart! I love it when children react to my outfit, but sometimes I get increasingly guilty because I’ve made several kids cry with my all black outfits before, hahaha.
I’ve been loving gingham a lot lately but pairing it with eyelet is such a great idea! I hope you have a lovely weekend, Amy! God Bless! <3
