Can I be honest? I’ve been in a bit of a fashion funk this week. I had another post planned for today but due to a mix-up it didn’t arrive in time (It’ll be coming at you Monday so stay tuned!). I don’t like dressing for the warmer months as much as I do the cooler ones. Frankly, I’m just not feeling very cool. It seems like everyone is doing it all better than me. Anyone else ever feel that way?
This plaid drop waist dress is one of my favorites. You’ve seen it before with my OTK boots. In the late spring and summer, I turn to dresses often. Unlike in the cooler months, you don’t have as many layers to add personality to your outfit. Personally, I love to let a fun shoe to do the talking for me. I found these knock off Valentino rockstud flats for only $60 on Amazon, and they are amazing. They come in a ton of colors and are really well made. I’m even considering ordering another pair. They are a great outfit maker. I’ve had some funny reactions to them. I’m referring to them as my kick ass shoes (did I just say that on the internet?). But they do make me pretty happy, so when all else fails, just add shoes. Of course a killer pair of sunglasses doesn’t hurt either. Obsessed with my latest pair from Ditto’s Endless Eyewear Program. Remember you can get your first month FREE by using this link and get all the details here.

Hah! Glad I am not the only one feeling a little in a rut/in a funk this week. Loved the dress already the first time you’ve worn it. And I actually love dressing for summer haha. Easy, breezy, carefree and warm. Dislike having to add layer over layer and STILL being cold.

SWOONING over this dress, you look gorgeous in it too! And those studded flats are actually just as adorable as the Valentino… I am obsessed 🙂

Thank you so much! You totally made my day. Isn’t this blogging community the best?! I don’t feel like that everyday for sure, but it’s really nice of you to encourage me. 🙂
I feel your pain about the fashion rut. I love spring and summer and typically enjoy dressing for warmer weather, but I’ve been less than inspired lately. If I can throw on a tshirt and a pair of jeans, I’m good. Anything else is definitely a major undertaking. However, I think this drop waist dress looks amazing on you! You paired it with the perfect shoes, too. I’ll definitely have to check out those rockstud-esque flats. I’ve been wanting a pair of rockstuds but haven’t wanted to shell out the money. Ha!

Oh my goodness. Amy, I love this post for so many reasons. 1. This look is gorgeous 2. Those are the best rockstud cheapies I’ve come across and I’m dying to check them out. 3. I’m so inspired by and grateful for your honesty. Girl, I love that I totally admire you but actually feel like I can relate to you at the same time. Believe me when I say I’m not criticizing but so many fabulous bloggers out there make you feel kinda bad about yourself. Whether we realize it’s a “highlight reel” or not those bloggers who only ever focus on the most perfect parts of life can start to make you feel like you or yours is less than. I guess the problem lies with us girls who let ourselves feel that way but still… It’s really refreshing to come across a gal as beautiful, stylish and real as you are.

Wow, thank you so much! I cannot tell you how much this comment means to me! I never know what to share because I know people come here for fashion, but I also never want to be fake. Life isn’t all roses for anyone. We all struggle with how we look and comparison at times, not to mention the normal everyday life stuff. Thanks so much for being so supportive and for reading! Hope you are having a great week! 🙂
Such an amazing dress to wear almost in any season! Love how you paired it with those cute flats! 🙂
