Just Add Shoes

May 22, 2015

Can I be honest? I’ve been in a bit of a fashion funk this week. I had another post planned for today but due to a mix-up it didn’t arrive in time (It’ll be coming at you Monday so stay tuned!). I don’t like dressing for the warmer months as much as I do the cooler ones. Frankly, I’m just not feeling very cool. It seems like everyone is doing it all better than me. Anyone else ever feel that way?

This plaid drop waist dress is one of my favorites. You’ve seen it before with my OTK boots. In the late spring and summer, I turn to dresses often. Unlike in the cooler months, you don’t have as many layers to add personality to your outfit. Personally, I love to let a fun shoe to do the talking for me. I found these knock off Valentino rockstud flats for only $60 on Amazon, and they are amazing. They come in a ton of colors and are really well made. I’m even considering ordering another pair. They are a great outfit maker. I’ve had some funny reactions to them. I’m referring to them as my kick ass shoes (did I just say that on the internet?). But they do make me pretty happy, so when all else fails, just add shoes. Of course a killer pair of sunglasses doesn’t hurt either. Obsessed with my latest pair from Ditto’s Endless Eyewear Program. Doesn’t look like your in a funk to me! Love that outfit- so effortless and on point. Plus you really make me want to cut my hair. I tend to feel a little less creative during the warmer months… It’s so hot in Texas, I usually end up in a dress and sandals!

Thank you! I appreciate your kind words. It gets really hot here in OK too, so I totally feel you on the dress and sandals. I don’t want to sway you on the hair or anything, but I am a fan of the LOB! 😉

I think I like dressing for the warmer months a lot better…easier fabric, more combinations. I love this dress! I loved it with the boots but these shoes are rocking! (No pun intended 🙂 I need to order me some knockoffs!

Oh my goodness, I definitely think you are being too hard on yourself, but we are all our own worst critics I suppose. You look great in this dress! I don’t think you need to worry about being “cool.” We like you because you’re YOU and all you have to do is share what you love and the right people will be drawn to you. 🙂

Thanks Gina! I can always count on your support. I always appreciate knowing you are one of the people who actually reads the post not just looks at the pictures. Thanks for like me for me and being such a great blogging buddy! I am really thankful to have met you through all of this. I just have to remind myself every once in a while not to compare and be happy where I am.

You know I love that trumpet skirt dress in the grid pattern. Those Valentino-inspired flats are so cute with it. Great look. Welcom by later today and link up with me. Thank you. =)

Great dress and the shoes definitely add a kick to it. I have a harder time dressing in the summer months because I’m off work all summer and what I wear on a daily basis isn’t necessarily blog-worthy…lol!
