Nude Legs in the Winter with Sheer Pantyhose

February 10, 2016

It’s that time of the year. We are all getting tired of our winter clothes and longing for spring. I snagged this adorable velvet jumper on the Gap clearance rack just after Christmas. The material feels like winter, but I couldn’t figure out how to style it. Black or navy tights felt strange, too dark somehow. I was ready for bare legs, but the weather wasn’t cooperating. I never dreamed nude legs in the winter with sheer pantyhose would be an option until I tried the L’eggs version of the tights I love so much (see post here). They were kind enough to send me several colors and options to test out. I ended up wearing the Silken Mist Ultra Sheer Leg in Nude, and you cannot even tell! I used to think nude pantyhose were just for my grandmother, but they have come a long way. I was cracking up when I was trying the options on. There is a “suntan” color which was waayyy too tan for my pasty white self. #DreamOn. These pantyhose are giving my winter outfits new life.

Also, because I feel like I am BFFs with you all, and this is something my BFF would need to know, I found the perfect nude lipstick. I know, monumental, right? In all seriousness, I had been looking for a while, and I am pretty cheap when it comes to makeup. Okay, really cheap. Like I only buy drugstore brands. I tried a couple of the “fancier” brands on but just couldn’t commit. Pinterest lead me to L’Oreal Colour Riche in Fairest Nude. I cannot stop wearing it. Best $6 I’ve spent in a long time. I have been on a little makeup kick lately. My foundation was out, so I was doing some Pinteresting about that too which lead me to Estee Lauder Double Wear. Non-drugstore I know, but I got a small sample of it, and after that there was no going back. It has a long-lasting matte finish. So. Good. It has to be for me to pay the big bucks for it.

Lastly, thank you all so much for your kind words to my post on Monday. My appointment went well, and I got my timeline for moving forward. I won’t start shots until mid-March, so I still have a little while until I’m really in the middle of IVF.

I struggled so much wearing certain dresses in the winter time because I didn’t always want to wear OTK boots with them. These sheer pantyhose definitely serve as a great alternative. I definitely agree that pantyhose have come a long way and I find myself reaching for them more often now. I’m absolutely in love with this out Amy and another outfit of yours I want to re-create:-).

Wow, I never would have guessed you have tights on here! When I think of nude pantyhose I definitely do not think of ones that look like that (the “suntan” shade comes to mind) so I need to give them a try. I love that fun jumper and how you made it work for winter!

Wow I’m totally in love with the bow shirt! It’s the most gorgeous ever. This is one of my favourites of yours. I’m certainly an advocate for nude tights all year round, I use them all through winter and it makes a huge difference.
